  2. The Coliseum last night welcomed Andris Liepa and the Dancers from several companies in Russia, Bolshoi, Mariinsky, Stanislavsky and Kremlin Ballets. Sadly the long awaited Cleopatra has had to be postponed due to injury to Ilse Liepa. Andris Liepa promised hoped to bring it back next year. Also Nikolai Tsiskaridze is not due to appear until Thursday so the stars of the evening were Xander Parish, Yuliya Makhalina and Alaxandra Timofeyeva.   3. I can only endorse Dave's comments, there is more visual excitement in the way the skirts moved in Bella Figura than the bare chests of both kinds. Do the objectors never go to an art gallery or see photographs in all the media. Well done Boston, come back soon.

  6. A part of Sadler's Sampled Hofesh Shechter's Political Mother: The Choreographer's Cut is a Sadlers Wells until Sunday. Greeted by a very loud "wall" of sounds by floor to ceiling band that fill the back of the stage. We only had a couple of short extracts from the show. Although it was the second cast at the Royal Albert Hall for the general rehearsal photocall, the audience were very appreciative of the performance with Daria Klimentova and Vadim Muntagirov and all the Dances were greeted with genuine applause.   12. It is the anniversary of the first performance of the Rite of Spring. As part of the String of Rites at Sadler's Wells Akram Khan's starts a run tonight of iTMOi. We were given a couple of short extracts at yesterday's photocall. Here are two pictures. It is hard to judge a performance from such sort extracts but it looked energetic as you would expect a Rite of Spring to be. I look forward to hear from those attending the performances.   13. Four contrasting pieces by four dancers in the company at the QE Hall. The first one was very very dark and I hope they heeded the comments of several people present for the evening performance. The others were a bit lighter.   14. I did cut the lawn in time before the rains came and I have booked for 5 of us to go to the 2.00pm performance so that my youngest grandaughter can attend. Who should I look out for.
  15. My local paper has an ad for performances at The Beck Theatre in Hayes. Sunday 19th May, 2.00pm and 7.30pm. I feel tempted to go. Maybe if I can get the lawn cut on Saturday I could go for one of the shows.

  18. The latest in the very successful productions - The Secret Garden - Choreographed by Erico Montes at the Peacock Theatre has sold out the entire run. The Children aged 9 to 15 years old learn how to work hard and together which they take on in their future lives. I wonder if any of our poster's children are in the show and would like to comment.   22. Not for the squemish but well done. Stunning set. The Jailor was replaced by Ben Whitson the Director and was of course excellent. Young Billy - was well danced by Johan Christensen who replaced Sergei Polunin. It would have been interesting to see Sergei stripped to the waist showing all his tattoes. The whole cast did an excellent job to convey the drama as inmates and guards in the jail. Here are a couple of impresions.   23. The last of the offerings by the Mikhailovsky Ballet at the Coliseum. Sadly I had the wrong timings and missed the Without Words piece but managed to see the Prelude with wonderful music.   24. The fourth presentation of The Mikhailovsky Ballet was Act 2 of Multiplicity: Forms of Silence and Emptiness.. It was very very dark as you can see. A complete contrast to the classics that have gone before.
