  1. Would be very grateful if anyone has a decent SCS for Yasmine and Will's second show. Thanks.
  2. I also agree with the post-lockdown exhilaration and appreciation of being able to see all these wonderful artists again!
  3. Who have you booked to see? I saw the general and really enjoyed Lauren and Matty - especially Matty as DG. I am also seeing Hayward/Sambe and Kaneko/Muntagirov. Was considering changing the Hayward performance to one with Campbell as DG as I loved their partnership last time around, but then reviews on the forum of Campbell's Lescaut persuaded me to stick with Sambe/Hayward and see Campbell cast against type!
  4. I find exactly the same, Dawnstar! I always end up worrying that I've chosen the wrong casts or dashing about trying to get tickets for performances which have had rave reviews - it's exhausting!! Am going to try to rein myself in a little and enjoy the casts I was originally chose!
  5. Yes, I just came on the forum to say the same thing - I've just booked for 1st April 7pm which was showing seats available but then none were showing when the seat map loaded last night. Wondering if someone at the ROH has been reading the forum posts ...
  6. I was reflecting on that cast after today's rehearsal - I agree, a dream! I was disappointed that Hayward wasn't initially cast opposite Campbell in this run, but as it stands it looks as though I might get to see them again (though without Magri and Corrales this time round!). Sad for Takada though.
  7. He is convincingly predatorial as GM! Quite revoltong! Matty Ball stole the show for me!
  8. It appears that some people were sat in the empty seats rather than those they were allotted which appeared to be immediately behind the official photographers - understandably! Apologies for the odd topic post - my curiosity got the better of me!
  9. The ushers are evicting quite a number of people from the rear of the stalls during first interval of the general rehearsal... No idea what's going on, but I guess it's something to watch!
  10. I agree - noticed him in the Thieves section of The Dante Project and then was so lucky to see him in the Nutcracker Insight with Marianna Tsembenhoi. Looking forward to seeing what he does next!

  12. The ROH has just announced Giacomo has been promoted to soloist.
  13. Wow, you've been very lucky - I've been checking daily for weeks and no hint of a return!
  14. DOH! Just gone back to the archive - I should have clicked further through - there are performances listed further on including the last in 2009 as you quite rightly stated! But that was a long time ago - definitely time for a return....
  15. A quick look at the ROH Performance Database shows a run of Les Sylphides in 1940 by the Vic Wells Ballet, and then a Royal Ballet School performance in 2017 and that's it!! Definitely time for Mr O'Hare to consider a revival! Maybe I'll have to look elsewhere for a chance to see it one day...
  16. Very much a nostalgic choice for me as I watched this on a VHS tape (Baryshnikov/Tcherkassy) over and over again as a teen - I'd love to see Les Sylphides! I'd also love the chance to see Within the Golden Hour live and also Solo Echo...not sure the latter was popular enough for another showing though?! A slightly eclectic triple bill?!!
  17. Thanks to everyone who works so hard to keep this forum up and running! As a lone ballet-fan in my household it's lovely for me to be able to chat and read about all things ballet on these forums, and I so appreciate the warm welcome I had at the end of last year, and all of the chats and generous advice from members and mods. Here's to a great ballet year in 2024!
  18. Yes, that's right! And I'm also looking forward to hearing about tonight - I tried to get a return for this evening after the matinee but they had none sadly!
  19. I can report that the standing spot was ok today - there was a normal sized chair, not one of the tall stools, in front of SCS D1 and 2, so unrestricted by anyone there! Bit of a shame that I couldn't see much of the tree...but for £12 I can't complain - good close view of most of the dancing! Thanks again everyone for your help!
  20. Back on a train having narrowly avoided missing today's matinee courtesy of SWR!! On a more positive note, I really enjoyed the performance today. I found Mariko Sasaki to be so assured and unhurried, absolutely lovely - the star of the show today. Joseph Sissens, my favourite, did not disappoint and Julia Roscoe was so elegant - not sure I've seen her in such a starry role before. And Marianna and Giacomo - saw them in the Insight and loved them in that - fantastic to see the rehearsal to the performance (just wish I could have seen them as close up as in the Clore!). I was really struck by the height difference between Nadia Mullova-Barley and Taisuke - didn't bother me, but it was noticeable! Looking forward to hearing thoughts from other audience members today. Oh, and shout out to our usher - she was on it, hawk-like throughout the performance - no mid-performance mobile phone shall pass! As it should be!
  21. Right, I have returned the seat and am sticking with SCS. Many thanks to everyone for your help!
