    Any group 4 on here?
We filmed and uploaded today. Dd really enjoyed it.

Yes we are group 4, filmed it on Saturday and it took nearly all day Sunday just to upload the first video to YouTube so still need to upload the other 2. My DD really enjoyed it too.

    Good luck.

@SpamcatI sent the 3x videos as 3 separate links (took AGES to upload!) The connection disappeared after I stopped the 1st video, so the actual filming of each part was OK and the assessors won't have seen/heard me stressing!!

Oh that is good, I thought you meant it stopped half way through a video, that would be a nightmare! 😬

I played the audition video through the laptop, but plugged this into the TV via a cable so DD could watch a big screen. Sound not too bad. Then lost connection between the two, had a nightmare 🙈 then played the link directly via YouTube app on the smart TV. The last option worked the best; no lag and good sound 👌

Thanks that is really helpful. I am thinking I may borrow a TV and do that using our firestick. Me and technology just don't mix!

Did you start again or did you send it in with the interruptions on the video? I just know something is going to go wrong, our Internet is so bad! 🙈

Got a yes for my DD. Still in shock! The email was about an hour ago so they may be doing them all at the same/similar times.

Sorry for the noise, but as I kept telling my DD it will soon be time to apply for next year already!

    Congratulations!!! 🤩

We got on to a short wait list apparently which is a massive shock.
Sorry for all the no’s xxxxx

That is great to have swl! Means a longer wait though.

Sounds like they did nos first then swl, so we should get some yeses soon! 🤞

  6. We've actually got a really great space to do it, DD does some zoom ballet classes at home but it is always lagging and cutting out and things don't stream well. (The floor is tiled though, I never knew that was bad? 😬). I just don't understand whether or not I'm allowed to download the video if I delete it after. I could ask to use the hall, but I don't think that has Internet either. We really do live in the middle of nowhere! 😂

  7. Got our group 4 email! I am confused because it says at the top not to save the videos onto your device then at the end it says videos must be deleted if you downloaded them. Our Internet connection is so dodgy because we live in the middle of nowhere but I'm not sure if I can download them or not. 🤔

Also it says no tiled floors and the entire of our house has tiled floors. 😂

Just catching up after a busy week! Ohhhh someone with red hair stood near me the first week... maybe one week I'll pluck up the courage to ask.

DD is loving Elmhurst 😊 recognised a few faces when she went in which helps and finds the teacher strict but lovely.

We're in purple group 10:30 and definitely a mix of new and old students. Sounds like there is a lot of year 5 girls if they are potentially split across 3 groups!

I will be taking them this week so do say hi if you see me, I have red hair and I'm usually dressed in some sort of tie dye. 😂

Yes my DD said the teacher is much stricter than the teacher they had last year but she likes that. She said the class is 12 and she thinks 6 old and 6 new.

hello @Spamcat! All year 5 girls in our group, my DD knows all the girls in our group she says it’s the same as last year with ‘some missing’ (who will all be in yours 🙂).

They have done so well to get everyone back!

Looking forward to them all being together again soon though @Spamcat x and to the return of jazz! 😎

    @Astrid hello! 😊

Our class is about 6 girls from last year and 6 yr5 newbies according to Bree. Still doesn't add up to the number of girls there were last year though does it? So we assumed some girls had left. But it sounds like some must be in with year 4 according to what people have said on here.

@Spamcatshe’s Blue group, 8:45-10 door B. Maybe they are mixed then? Might explain why she thinks they all know each other?

My DD was originally in this group:

    Year Group 5

    Class - Blue

    Time - 08.45 - 10.00

    But swapped with 10.30 purple.

They must have put some yr 5s in with the yr 4s too. That would explain why my DD thought some had left.

It must be different to make bubbles this year? My DD is in a different group from her yr4 friends. She's one of 16 in the group, 4 boys, 12 girls and she says definitely yr 5 who were there last year and new Yr 4's 🤔 She's loving it though!

It will be nice when they can get back to normal again.

Maybe some yr5s have been kept down to catch up? 🤔

I didn’t think they were mixing years, but my dd is convinced the rest of her class already know each other! She’s door B 8:45.

    Which group colour is she?

It just doesn't make sense because the yr5s are in my DDs class which is split in half and not mixed with yr4s.

@Astrid there aren't any yr4s in your half of the class are there?

  13. They must have mixed yr4 boys and girls this year then, maybe there wasn't enough boys for them to have their own class? The bit about having older ones in the group is odd though. I did hear someone say her new yr5 was offered a yr4 place until she was up to speed so there could be more doung that.

I know for definite that my DDs yr5 class is only yr 5 girls (10.30 purple) and the other half of her class is all girls (8.45 blue) and her friend (boy) is in a 10.30 class of only boys. My DD was originally in blue group and swapped with a girl in purple.

  14. I have a brand new age 8-10 royal blue Elmhurst YD leotard for sale for exactly what I paid for it (£17) if anyone is interested? It was just tried on once but was too small, it still has the tag.

Currently out if stock on website.

Tag says 8-10 but I would say 8-9, would be too small for most 10 yr olds.

    Free postage.

Just out of interest, does anyone know the year group size in Birmingham YD? It's hard to see who is who, as yr4 seem to be mixed with yr5. Mixed boys and girls as well? I thought it was 20 per year group? But they're all split into groups of 15. And has anyone managed to get the uniform yet??

Year 4 and 5 girls are not mixed. I'm not sure about boys but they don't usually mix them. Last year there was about 20 something girls and 8-10 boys in yr 4 (boys and girls separate). This yr my DDs class has been split in half with 12 in her class, so about 24 girls. Her friend who is a boy (also yr5) said there is about 10 in his class. They both said some had left and some new yr5s had started.

So yr group size for yr5 seems to be about 34; 24 girls and 10 boys.

It's this one on 15th-19th (lots of different types of dance): https://www.tringpark.com/associated-courses/summer-dance-course-2-2020

We're also looking at her auditioning for Paris (POB) summer school as we have friends there we could stay with - but not holding out much hope - I think is as hard as RBS to get into! Maybe RAD earlier on in the summer as an alternative - she was down to do that this year.

My daughter was supposed to be doing EYB Swan Lake this summer but it got postponed to next July - so there will be lots on if hopefully it all goes ahead!

Thanks for all the info, I only just discovered EYB but it looks like there will be no auditions for a long time as they are doing all the postponed classes this year. Fingers crossed this all goes ahead with all these new lockdowns. My DD started back at Elmhurst last week after 6 months break. I think I will book Tring, it sounds great to try all the different styles of dance. I see they have the two dates for the same course and also one in Easter.

    Paris sounds amazing!

We've just booked my daughter and her friend onto the Tring summer residential for next year - looks great and comes highly recommended from another parent who's daughter has just started fulltime at Elmhurst.

@RachH is that the course from 1st - 5th August with different styles of dance? I was looking at the website earlier thinking that sounded good and wondering whether to go with that one or the Rad London one.

    (Sorry off topic!)

Good luck to everyone waiting for results 🤞🤞
