  1. @Astrid I didn't realise there was an Elmhurst thread, Thanks, I'll look for that and stop hijacking this one!

She loved her JA audition thanks and saud it was awesome! She gave a similar account to your DD but with the improv they sat cross legged and just had to do whatever they wanted with their arms, she said the music started slow then sped up and got more dramatic then slowed back down so sounds like a musicality test. They also did spotting spins which she was delighted about as she is really good at them. Its going to be a long wait now!

  2. My DH took my DD to Bath today. It is definitely more nerve wracking being at home than being with them, I've been pacing the floors!

Astrid yes I have been checking my email for Elmhurst result every 5 minutes since Monday! 😂

Good luck for everyone else who went today and those still with Auditions to do!

  3. JJ700 my DD is also auditioning in bath for a year 4 place tomorrow. We are in group 2 registration at 10.30. My DH is taking her. My DD is really hoping they do improv, ideally on feet!

Astrid my friend asked me to say that it was lovely to meet you and sorry she didn't get to say goodbye. Her son did bath today.

  4. Astrid another brilliant account from your very observant DD! My daughter is adament that they didn't do an improv dancing around the room in her group, which she is most annoyed about as she really wanted a chance to show off! 😂

Yes back to RBS talk! Looking forward to Thursday. Good luck everyone who still have auditions to do.

Lovely to meet you and your lovely DD today, lots of luck to you and your friends little boy and good luck for next week! x

Lovely to meet you too. Did your DD enjoy it and feel it went well? Did you get another very detailed account? We have been getting tiny bits from them both all day but they seem to have forgotten most of it! Sounded quite different to royal. Good luck to you DD, we don't have to wait long for Elmhurst results, they said by end of week! 🙈😲🤞🤞🤞

  6. ExpatB sounds similar to my daughter, she is a year younger but only 122cm. Hard to tell if that is too short because although she's the shortest in her class she is the youngest in her year.

Thanks for the info Mummy2balletfairies. Is the improv the thing where they have to pretend to be under the sea? Do they have to do it on their knees or can they be on feet? What did the excersise/dance routine involve?

Thanks, it is really good to know what to expect as it is our first time doing anything like this. She only moved to her ballet school in December and two weeks later her teacher put her forward for this! It was quite a surprise!

  7. Thanks for your replies. Glad to hear that they do a bit of improv so they get a chance to do a bit if dancing and be themselves! Interesting about the variety of heights, my daughter has good physique/flexibility according to her teacher but is quite short so I was a bit concerned about that. We went to the insight day in Totnes but are auditioning in Bath.

  8. I was jusy wondering from what I've read. Do they actually do any dancing at all in the auditions? Or any spotting and spinning? Or is it all stretches and posture? Is it very different to what they did at the insight day?

  9. Thanks Astrid for the details of the audition, it is very helpful. 😙 My daughter is Auditioning for year 4 at Bath on Thursday 23rd. She is not 8 until end of August so will be the absolute youngest. I was reading your post with her this morning and she was practising everything on your list! Anyone else on here going for Bath? They added an extra day of auditions because there are so many applicants!
