What group was that?

My understanding was that the earlier group which was an older age group (11-12 years) didn’t do any flexibility assessment or pirouettes and did a lot of pliés. DDs group 10/11 years did pirouette prep, flexibility and corner work 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ DD is applying for year 7 CAT so will have been an older one in the 12.15 group. She wasn’t in with her friend as they were also applying for associates whereas DD was just applying for CAT.

My daughter was in the same group. She really enjoyed it. It sounded completely different from the audition her friend was in first thing in the morning (both CAT)!

No. When she replied to say there was still an error I asked if there was an itinerary for the day but haven’t heard back x

That really isn’t a lot is it through to this final stage. I think we need to reinforce to our DDs and pupils that getting through to the semi finals this year is the equivalent of getting through to finals in any previous year. They were able to dance in front of, I assume, a panel similar to finals they just haven’t had the WL finals experience which is really sad in many ways. But still an incredible achievement. I hope the 28 have an amazing time and enjoy these next few days, and although sad my DD isn’t with them, wish them lots of luck.

Hello, we didn’t do the performance course but for the dance course our wait was 3 1/2 weeks. I would have thought it would be quicker this month as finals will be taking place (dance course finals are the 18th). Good luck. I hope you hear soon x

@Ballet Powerdid you manage to submit your form in the end? I still can’t submit it but the registrar said some have been able to 🙈

YBSS email received… just to say they’ll be in touch in April. I read ‘we are sorry’ and my heart sank 😁.

I think it’s just to give us parents one more thing to stress about 😂😂. @MissEmilythank you for asking the question and thank you to others for positive stories. It’s hard to remain positive and I think summer school places are like hens teeth so expecting a no but I’ve literally just been stressing over whether I’ve submitted the right photos 🙈.

My DD does have an insta account. It is parent managed and in fact I am the one that posts about good news and her achievements but try to balance it with thinking of others who get don’t get good news at the same time and also some of the rubbish parts of the young aspiring ballerina … the odd illness and injury that gets in the way. DD very rarely goes on it and I often have to tell her that someone has sent her a message and please can she reply otherwise she just wouldn’t. However DDs comparisons of herself and others hasn’t come from social media. Hers has come from her JA classes and auditions where she’s been exposed to the ultra flexible and amazing feet, neither of which DD has. I wish there was a way we could keep them in a bubble forever but unfortunately we can’t and it’s not all down to social media.

Yes you may be right. I’d assumed seeing as they had said possibly Friday that they just need to get the emails sorted and press the button (wishful thinking on my part!)

I believe that is who was at auditions. I’d just assumed it was Chris Powney when DD said it was the AD x

My mistake. Apparently it wasn’t Chris Powney it was the new director of the foundation course.
