When my eldest got to the WL finals in 2020 (I think it was the last thing that happened before lockdown) the girls attended both days and it was made up of ballet class, physio assessment, interviews, an academic assessment and a lot of sitting around. They did it differently last year due to covid.
Ah so maybe I have the wrong end of the stick. I’m sure I’d read somewhere about being invited back but that could be Elmhurst?

I hadn't realised the girls' finals dates were out - may not be our concern of course but it's helpful to have a heads up, thanks!
I emailed a little while back to ask the question just because I needed to sort leave etc (just in case we get that far!)

DS WL auditions are 10th and 11th March - does anyone know when they give results? Does he also have to get through the 10th to make the 11th? 😀
I don’t think they take long with the final results. Y7 girls if they get through semis are on the 3rd & 4th. I assume they have to get through the first day and then get called back for the second day. Similar to Elmhurst which is a bit rubbish if you have to book a hotel for 2 nights but don’t actually need the 2nd night!

It's the day after her Tring audition too. It'll be good for her to see the two schools so close together but I hope she doesn't get too tired and overwhelmed.
Yes we’re in the same boat. Elmhurst is a very short affair though isn’t it. A couple of hours and it’s all done.

@PointeperfectMy pupil's audition is on 11th January, but like @balletboy8 said, there are two preliminary audition dates later in January too. Hope that doesn't mean we have a longer wait for results, but fear it may!
I didn’t think about having to wait for the results. DDs audition is also on the 11th.

I know the deadline for Elmhurst has been extended to 17th December. Are we assuming we'll hear which audition date the Year 7 applicants have been allocated before Christmas? It'll be a bit of a last-minute scramble to organise work shifts/ travel etc. if not!
I’m assuming so. I’m sure online it says provisional dates for prelims so this morning I’ve booked accommodation for all 3 dates with free cancellation just in case.

It seems slightly quicker now they're into it, results wise I mean.
Hopefully if Birmingham is out that means you've heard about Leeds too @SJBallet
Thank you for thinking of us. Leeds did also come out today and DD has been invited to semi finals. She’s ridiculously giddy and I can’t wait for her to go to bed 😂

All sorted - it’s because she’s only down to audition for Mids and the semi finals/finals are for white lodge. I do wonder whether that’s scuppered her chances for Mids because they won’t have seen her since November when they’re making their decisions but it’s not the end of the world!
Aww glad it’s all sorted. I’m
sure it won’t change chances. There will be lots of children that have just ticked for mids. They will have known on the day but can’t offer places until they’ve sorted all the full time places as some of the children that are offered WL may turn down their place and therefore be offered mids instead.
It is a really long wait though I agree! I’m waiting for the Leeds results to come out as they were the next centre to audition and it’s killing me waiting for the emails. It’s likely to be next week I’m sure but now London are out I’m on tenterhooks!

Not in junk or in any other folder. I guess I wait til Sunday and email if we haven’t heard by then!
Oh no @MamaFrosty what a nightmare. You’re very patient waiting until after the weekend. I hope you hear very soon x

Any other y7 Londoners not heard yet? Trying not to read too much into it!
Have you checked all your spam
folders? @MamaFrosty? It would be unusual not to send them all out?

Yes good news here 🙂. Not sure about Bath - were they the day after Totnes auditions? If so, then Yes tomorrow hopefully!
Congratulations. Bath were the day before Totnes so they much have come out too!
It’s London Y7 girls next and then Leeds next 😮 but Leeds were only last Wed.

My DS has just phoned, he sneaked into my emails. The results are in, usually it's me telling him - the cheek!
I love his cunning. I hope he received good news.

Good luck to everyone applying…I really can’t believe we are already at the auditions stage.
DS has his WL/MA audition next Sunday, it’s the London audition…are there any other boys attending?
Has anyone else whose applied to Elmhurst heard from them yet when their prelim audition is…I’m worrying maybe our application didn’t go through (even though I got email confirmation lol…I know I’m being silly) as it seems really late to not have heard from them yet ?
We haven’t heard yet. I assume we’ll hear after they close next week. X

Good luck to everyone applying! My DD is applying for year 8 entry. Does anyone know if there are semi finals for year 8 entry or is it straight through to finals? 🤔
Semis are only for year 7 girls so for year 8 it would be straight to finals. Good luck to your DD. X

Yes they do put stretching at the beginning lol. My son said this at the WL finals last year.
I’m inclined to say it’s so they can see flexibility/ potential flexibility at the start and then know who to watch / or not bother watching for the rest of the audition... harsh but true 😬Ha I’ve just read this as I’m sat contemplating the day ahead which is DDs prelim audition for WL…… she’s not that flexible… fingers crossed she gives them another reason to want to watch her.

Fingers crossed @MissEmilyit sounds as though they had a great experience 👍

Vocational school applications for Y7 entry 2022
in Doing Dance
Posted
For Tring it says the following:
A prepared dance solo of up to one-minute duration, in any style, from a smartphone/iPod/USB accompaniment, ready to play.
We are happy to see candidates’ own choreography for this solo
I did get an email from Hammond that said they were offering video auditions as an alternative but it said about ticking a firm so not sure if that is for anyone who is still doing the application rather than those that have been offered a date already.
Hammond says you have to provide the cables from your phone to sound system????? Need to have a think about all of that!
