  1. Btw, huge congratulations for those who are in. Commiserations for those with a no and fingers crossed for those on the waiting list. 😘
  2. She's currently year 4, so for a year 5 place. She auditioned last year and it was a no. She is a little disappointed even though we totally expected a no. She had a lovely time and loved the audition but it's the end of the road for us with the ja's
  3. An expected no for us. Good luck to the rest of you waiting
  4. My dd was in one of the last two auditions London last year, applying for a year 4 place. She was 115cm, was born in late spring and was wearing 6yo clothes.
  5. Seriously. Watch the football tonight 7pm. England are playing. That ought to take your mind off it. There's no point stressing. Nice weather too. Have a glass of wine. Ah. Have a bottle. Why not?
  6. I took my then 8yo with fallen arches to a podiatrist. He assessed her feet, her gait and made her do a number of exercises. He advised against insoles, said she's growing and told us there was nothing to worry about. Gave her a few exercises to do to strengthen her feet. My gut is not to worry.
  7. So you know what I was saying about barristers dancing? Just came across this article. Barrister ballet daddy!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5820683/amp/Father-does-ballet-stage-daughter-gets-stage-fright.html?ico=amp_articleRelated
  8. Girl Thursday audition. Expecting a no. But that's grand. Hence us being as cool as cucumbers
  9. You can always see who the ex dancers are at court. They are the ones with beautiful posture, grace, have beautiful hair and move like gazelles. Then you have the ones who are clearly ballet mums, frazzled, constantly refreshing forum pages for updates on junior associate results and looking like poop. Tell you girl to enjoy the degree and uni. It's nothing like the real world x
  10. Wow. It's out of a fire and into another. I'm a barrister and new to this ballet mum business. And quite frankly I prefer 15 days in court getting battered by the judge, client, opponents rather than having to make sure daughter is in the right colour leotard or the right way round or have enough pins with her or watching her compete in festivals. It's a long arduous process getting to the Bar and the rejections will come thick and fast. But persist and your daughter will find a rewarding career and profession (not necessarily well paid if in legal aid criminal or family work). Anyways, best of luck.
  11. Talk to the principal again. This time be direct. Any decent school will respond honestly to you. Had similar situation at my dd's school where her friends took the exam and she didn't, but bricked saying anything to avoid confrontation, to my dd's detriment who ended up staying down another year. But I won't let that happen again.
  12. Hello!! Find this forum most helpful. Thanks
  13. I honestly don't think London will be out this week. My 9yo said quite insightfully that 'no one knows what they're after' and 'there's no point in fretting about it, what's done is done' 😂 I just can't wait for the world cup to start to distract me from this forum 😂😂
  14. The sheet says that from the audition few children will be invited...however all will receive response. I don't take that to mean children will be offered on the day of the audition itself. Rather it's a reassurance that everyone will get a response even though there are few spaces. Does that make sense? I would find it surprising if they did offer on the day
  15. Stumbled across this forum last year. It was a no from London last year on 21/6 for us so we are not expecting results until at least next week. It's going to be a no again but she had a good laugh at the audition.
