  1. I keep thinking the same thing, whenever I try to look for something. My dd is easy to buy for but her brother? It's hopeless! He's doing his first dance show soon and I want to buy him something small to remember it by, like the keyring dd has for her first show. Can't find anything suitable.
  2. Is that for children who will turn 9 this academic year or those that are already 9?
  3. Ds does 3 ballet classes plus an associates class and one tap and one modern per week. He did nothing a year ago but it doesn't add up to that many hours compared to what he could be doing at gymnastics, which he's been doing since he was five. The club wanted him to do three three-hour sessions, now that is too much.
  4. Yes sounds lovely but children would have to take the Friday off school to attend.
  5. Interesting, thank you all. Obviously quite a few of the children will be auditioning for more than one school so how many individuals there are altogether won't be as simple as multiplying the WL figures by 3 or 4. Part of the problem is I have no idea if he'll be good enough or not, I know nothing at all about dancing. Obviously his teachers will and he's just started Elmhurst Associates so I guess we'll have a better idea after a couple of years of that! He's only year 4 at the moment but thoughts of secondary school are creeping up quickly. It's all too scary!
  6. Hi Wondered if anyone had any idea how many boys audition for year 7 places at each of the schools and how many get accepted? I know we would be talking averages here but I'd like some idea before I even contemplate thinking about letting my ds apply. TIA
  7. My DS is going into Year 4 in September, will be doing Elmhurst Associates and has only just done his Primary exam last month so I'm pretty sure which grade they are doing bears no relation what the schools are looking for!
  8. It's at times when I'm reading things like this that I'm glad I have a ds rather than a dd!
  9. My ds age 7 has done gymnastics since he was 4, now does 6 hours a week. The stretching they do is really good for his flexibility but his back isn't very flexible naturally so I think he's more suited to ballet anyway!
  10. My ds can't wait to start in September at Sunderland, he's really looking forward to it. Good luck to those waiting
