  1. The delicately etched beauty and the mesmerising hands of Yuhui Choe in the afternoon's Emeralds, the delightful sassiness of Akane Takada in the evening's Rubies, then the absolute class of Lauren Cuthbertson in Diamonds. Three right Royal ladies.
  2. They did say the complete dances for each finalist could be seen on the programme website.
  3. Re the ending, with Eva taking control of her own life in future, the dress rehearsal was on International Women's Day
  4. Thanks. Switched on just in time to see Ondine coming through the waterfall/fountain. I was lucky enough to see Fonteyn in this, and that first view of her hand has stayed in my memory ever since.
  5. Ah, just noticed I made a strange mixture of Akane Takada's name. My apologies. (Might have been my stupid smartphone again. I just had to persuade it to get it right this time.)
  6. I was told that Takane and Campbell had just half an hour rehearsal together
  7. A quick comment on Saturday evening - a delightful debut from Reece Clarke.
  8. Monday evening (9th Jan) was my last Nutcracker of this season. A shame we didn't have Emma Maguire and Tristan Dyer as Clara and Hans-Peter, but in their stead we had the excellent Anna Rose O'Sullivan and James Hay. Then Act 2 brought us the delicious Sugar Plum of Yuhui Choe and the gorgeous Rose Fairy of Claire Calvert. Thank you to all the company for the many excellent Nutcracker performances I've seen this season. And yes, cameos amongst the party guests, and various behaviors by Clara's friend and dancing mistress were noticed. Well done that servant who wouldn't let the young friend get hold of the drinks!
  9. We can't tell if seats shown as unavailable are because they are already booked or held ready for release at public booking. You could try asking the box office, or does any other member of this forum know more?
  10. They understandably leave printing cast change slips to as late as possible so they are often not available when you arrive early. I always check later as well.
  11. The BBC Radio4 programme, Start the Week, at 9am this morning, Monday 12th Dec, with a shortened repeat 9.30pm this evening, was mainly discussions relating to the Bolshoi Ballet. Should also be available on iPlayer.
  12. And he was on the BBC1 6.30pm Regional (SE) News, about 20 minutes in today ie Tuesday
  13. Is this the first time we've had Clara and the Nutcracker both Principals? I think when Alina and Ivan did it that was before they were principals.
  14. Multiverse seems to be more powerful than perhaps intended. "It's gonna rain" said that voice. - And did it rain!!! As soon as the performances had finished, an excess of rain causing flooding in the south west of the UK and points north.
  15. When the curtain went up on Multiverse, to me the set was three dimensional graph, the x and y horizontal axis and the z vertical, then we got time moving within it, total of the basic 4 dimensions, giving the mathematical/scientific reference to multiple universes.
