Feet problems in ballet

Recommended Posts

Currently I dance in ballet flats and I am doing well but this part of my foot is constantly hurting. Especially doing certain moves and jumps in class. I won't be having class for a month now due to my teacher having surgery but I would like to know why this part of my foot hurts so much on this side but my other side is perfectly fine.

I am trying to add a picture

Physiotherapist is a non medical health professional trained in musculoskeletal health.

In the UK it is generally better to see a physio before a general doctor (GP) who aren't well trained in this type of thing generally.

Even if you can get direct access to an orthopaedic surgeon or rheumatologist in the UK I would personally still go for a physio first. They are better trained especially in rehabilitation.

Physio? Is that a doctor for feet or???

Kind of sounds crazy to see a doctor about doesn't it?

As sarahw says, a Physio is not a Doctor, but is a Medical Professional. If you search Google for "Dance Physiotherapist" or even "Sports Physiotherapist" in your area, they will examine your feet and be able to diagnose the cause of your pain. Alternately, if you know a good Chiropodist who is also qualified in Podiatry, they should also be able to help.

None of us here are Medical Doctors or Physiotherapists (as far as I know) and although people can kindly offer you advice, without examining your foot nobody can give you a diagnosis over the internet. If it has been hurting for a month I would suggest you see a Medical Professional in person.

Good luck. :-)
