BBC young musician 2020

Is anyone watching this? I didn’t know it was on until I saw it yesterday on BBC 4, it was the keyboard competition.

I missed it last night.  I'm wondering how on earth they are going to manage to do the final in the current conditions, given that it usually involves a full orchestra.

I think they’re hoping to hold the final in the Autumn - the semi finals were recorded in March, I assume pre lockdown.

No, the final is always live (more or less?)

They are only showing the category finals for now (which were recorded pre-lockdown).

The Radio Times says the semi finals will be held back to the Autumn when they hope to be able to stage the final. It’s good that the whole category finals performances are available on iPlayer, shortly after the BBC4 highlights are broadcast.
