  1. This very excited Granny has been asked to source 6 year old's black pants for dgd's very first dance school show. Can any of you very kind and experienced people point me in the right direction as to where tiny pants can be obtained in black ? Thank you - Granny Gail
  2. Did anyone see Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake in 3D ? It was due to be shown at Watford Palace Theatre this afternoon but the immediate area suffered a power cut so after an hours wait with fingers crossed we were all told that the screening would not take place and although the power was restored 2 minutes later, there was then not enough time to set up and run the film. I do hope that no one had made a long journey to Watford
  3. Don't know about photos but she was exquisite - and it was so good to see Brian Maloney in the spotlight. He was a charming lad next door and the spark between them was great. His technique and partnering were solid and he made a lovely replacement for the absent one.
  4. Not just you Alison - I cannot see beyond the black rectangle on AOL but IE is fine. It could be the blocking of popups that I have set on AOL that is getting in the way.
  5. Forgot to mention Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake being shown in 3D at Watford Palace on Sunday June 3rd. I think those swans are scary enough at a safe distance !!
  6. There were trailers for Paris Opera Ballet - Romeo and Juliette on Tues 15th May (looked a modern set), NDT - Move to Move on Thurs 31st May (looked very stunning contemporary), Bolshoi - Raymonda on Sunday 24th June. As far as I know of these only Raymonda is scheduled for Watford, but they are showing Sondheim's Company on May 7th and RB Beatrix Potter on 26th August and lots from Glyndebourne in between.
  7. ... what a lovely romp to brighten up a wet weekend. The acting was brilliantly played by all the cast, Lunkina and Lobukhin as Zina and Pyotr, and Alexandrova and Skvortsov as the ballet couple. As always the male ballerina was laugh out loud hilarious and although the satellite was a little broken up at times it was better than I had anticipated with the stormy weather around.
  8. .... and it now works with AOL - bravo
  9. For north of London people, Watford Palace theatre is a great place for seeing the ballet films - Bright Stream is showing on Sunday at 4:00 p.m
  10. Over 3 hours wait and then very little availability of affordable seats for the dates I could go so crossing my fingers that something will turn up nearer the time
  11. It was the special priced Hamlyn Nutcracker performance - perhaps Sun readers are not to be trusted to return them
  12. I think that the booster cushions are no longer available, but she should be fine without. I took my 5 year old grand daughter for her first time at Christmas and was told they didn't provide them now.She just sat on our folded up coats
  13. Senior standby has mostly worked well for me - I check the website before setting off, but I have noticed something different on the Eifman and Schaufuss flyers - they say that over 65s tickets are 17.50 on the day of performance. I am hoping that means you can phone in the morning to be sure of a seat - has anyone found out the details of this ?
  14. I don't know if this is still valid - I put this offer from Travelzoo up on the Tickets page during the week ENB Ballet Russe - London Coli Programme One, on Sun 25 March 2:30pm and Tues 27 March 7:30pm Programme Two, on 28, 29 and 30 March at 7:30pm Enter code BALLET Hope it works - Gail
  15. Watford Palace theatre shows most of the ballet/opera offerings and is normally not full. Best to phone for tickets 01923 225671 as the online booking starts seating you from the front. It is fairly expensive - £15 no concessions - but nice to sit in a theatre setting. (I think Freedom passes extend to Watford.)
  16. Was it Marianella - I thought I caught a glimpse of her ?
