Actually I thought I would see… Benjamin Ella at the first night of his ballet at the Linbury but I didn't see them out front in the foyer
unfortunately Ella wasn’t able to attend the first night due to illness but he was there last night- 2

They would raise more money offering them for £1.
Unlikely.

And just to note that we will be seeing Lang’s choreography reasonably soon in London as part of the RB’s Festival of New Choreography.

Not a lot of injuries, but one big one - snapping her ACL in rehearsal in February 2020 and out for 18+ months after surgery and rehab. Her first major role on returning was Myrthe. And here’s a picture from that evening (having now sorted out my brain fog around the difference between a Big Swan debut and a Myrthe one!)

Has Julia Roscoe suffered a lot of injuries? I remember seeing her as the little girl in La Sylphide in 2005, and thinking she was marvellous and one to watch. Not seen much of her since.
Sounds like a good excuse to share this picture from Roscoe’s excellent Lilac Fairy debut!- 7

I was just running through the ROH website to see when the Spring booking was opening and as I passed the Manon page where I hadn’t really taken in the dancer pictured before I could swear it’s Leticia Dias but she’s not dancing the main role in Manon is she?
Which page are you looking it? The production page that I see has a picture of Sarah Lamb.

Not something I'd go to see!

I wasn't referring to the promoting of ballet shoes, not sure where you got that idea from? I was responding to a post that has now been hidden, so it probably doesn't make much sense.
It was a typo (as someone pointed out to me last night in the Linbury foyer) - it should have said "shows" (as @capybara rightly surmised).

At least my method makes more money for the ROH
Not necessarily.
Also, if dynamic pricing is to work, the ROH will need to remove the ability for patrons to return tickets (else patrons will just return tickets purchased at higher prices and instead buy tickets at the lower prices). Personally, given how far ahead we buy tickets for the ROH, I'd prefer the flexibility to return tickets.

Also, if the staff whose job it is to know their product and promote its productions can only do so after being invited to see it half way through the run,
What a peculiar thing to say. I think the staff responsible for pricing and promoting the ballet shoes are an incredibly small proportion of the total ROH staff.

It's quite something to be taking on such a role at the age of 62 (in 2025) and to have to wait for nearly two years before being fully in charge.
Monica Mason was (turning) 61 when she took over as director of the RB (and, as we know, stayed in that role for 10 years).

Just to say that I went to see Don Quixote last night, courtesy of someone selling a standing ticket on this forum. I didn't quite catch what the young lady in front of me going in to the auditorium said, but it was something along the lines of not having an official ticket as she had received a student pass. The usher said she still had to show the email, so I went through ahead of her. Later I saw quite a large group of youngsters who appeared to have received the same offer. So it wasn't just happening at the weekend, apparently.
To be fair, that was probably someone from the ballet school, noting that there is a section of the standing area held back for them.

It's easy
DON QUEUE

Imagine a theatre has 100 seats. They are all excellent seats.
Tickets go on sale at £150 each and a couple of days before the show, 80% have been sold. Management would like a full house, so they discount the remaining tickets and allow specified groups to buy tickets at £12. They all sell. Overall the ticket revenue is £12,240.
If the tickets had gone on sale at £100 and all sold out, the ticket revenue would be £10,000.

Well be interesting to hear did anyone here who had bought a DQ ticket then also get the discount offer email? Either way it dies leave a nasty taste whenever one hears of someone paying less than you did for the same goods or services….
Doesn't leave a nasty taste in my mouth at all. If I book for something on the booking day and get the seats I want, I am happy and have certainty. Highly unlikely the seats I want would be available in any later discount offer.

We really need a laughing emoji response to posts - I know it's been said before and I know it's not possible, but so many posts make me giggle! I really shouldn't! I will be in such trouble for my ballet spending as it is!

As also mentioned on the casting thread, here's the cast change announcement for tomorrow.
Unfortunately, Steven McRae has sustained an injury and is unable to perform the role of Basilio. Therefore the following cast changes have been made:
TUESDAY 17 OCTOBER, 7:30pm
Anna Rose O'Sullivan is replaced by Fumi Kaneko as Kitri.
Steven McRae is replaced by William Bracewell as Basilio.

To some people… Personally, I prefer “first night cast”.
