What an incredibly patronising and unpleasant post.

No real casting available yet for Robert Binet’s piece in the Festival of New Choreography, Dark with Excessive Bright, but details are now available here.
Booking is already open for Patrons and all levels of Friends, with Young ROH on 10 Jan and general public booking on 11 Jan.

I would find this very disappointing. Was there no other dancer who could fulfil the role correctly?
Thank goodness you don’t have any artistic role in any ballet company.- 8

You are most welcome to take over running the forum, moderating and taking the financial and legal risks.- 2

How nice for you. I chose not to be an unquestioning member of any organization I give a that much money to.
Edited to add: I have no problem with no casting but communication as was suggested above is only polite and respectful to the people who the ROH keeps telling us they could not do without.
I respectfully disagree with your final proposition (as I did above). I am merely pointing out that some people on here speak as if they do so on behalf of all supporters and this is not the case.
BTW I am not an unquestioning member (as many on here and elsewhere will confirm).

At the very least, this is poor communication to its regulars for whom it has supporter membership programmes who have earlier booking dates and that they know book for dancers. It would not have taken much to state clearly, casting will only occur for the triple at X point in time, We appreciate that loyal supporters do prefer to book for specific dancers and casts but for X reason on this occasion it will not be possible for Y reason to cast the performance before booking opens. It really wouldn't take very much.
I am a loyal supporter (loyal enough to have been quoted on the stage during the Friends anniversary performances!). I have absolutely no issue with the lack of casting for the MacMillan triple and don't feel any need to receive a communication such as that described (I'm a big boy and am capable of thinking for myself and understanding the pressures that artistic enterprises, particularly extremely large ones, are operating under); I have happily booked my tickets.

Not that new a development. It was certainly that way when I booked.

I think someone has used the wrong email address. Michael Adamson used to be at ENB but he’s now at ROH.

Ouf. That's quite the troupe.
I am probably misreading but I wondered if Matthew Ball - at the curtain call - wasn't completely happy with how he went ..
It was a rehearsal.

Does anyone know from experience in previous years whether the City area is likely to get back to normal fairly quickly once roads open following the Lord Mayor's Show or whether it takes a long time for crowds to disperse? According to the website roads should re-open at 4-5pm. I'm due to be getting a train that arrives at Liverpool Street at 5.45pm. So I'm wondering if walking to the ROH as I normally do will be possible or if I'd be fighting my way through big crowds the whole way? (Fortunately the other events look to be some distance from my route so I'm hoping they won't be a problem.)
LMS crowds should be well gone by then- 1

Also lovely that Camilla Windsor got to actually see the full stage as it seems she quite enjoys the ballet.

Some brilliant seats available at reduced prices, too. Just what I’d been waiting for. Just picked up a front row centre seat for £50 😍
I've done the same...

I'm not sure you do sing the National Anthem in such cases.
The usual rule is that if the anthem is preceded by a drum roll or a held chord, one is expected to sing. Probably observed more in the breach these days!- 2

Ye gods. Who's in it? I'd expect at least half a dozen Hollywood stars for that sort of money!
Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker…

Don't forget it's the Lord Mayor's Show on Saturday so there will also be some disruption to the east...
Of course, if you're in town for Don Q, you could also watch the parade go by (and keep an eye out for me...)!
