The initial allocation of tickets in Munich is by ballot. If there are any seats left after the ballot has taken place, they can be chosen online in the usual way.

I wish we could see more Bournonville in the UK.
Have you tried the chocolate aisle in your local supermarket? [SORRY - VERY BAD JOKE ALERT]

Where (yes there are always exceptions) they were usually far behind those in the grammar school (languages, sciences and the rest) and found it difficult to catch up and make new friends. And in reality there was very little movement. Once in that pigeonhole, that was that.
To be honest, whilst there were only a handful of people who "came up" each year, your description of these students does not reflect my experience.

I agree.
It’s a bit like assessing children at age 11 for academic studies ( some will remember the old “11 plus exam” )This forced children into different types of schools at too young an age.
I did the 11 plus. I note there were reviews at the end of each of the first three years on secondary education that allowed children to move into the grammar stream.

But you can't phone the box office any more - unless you're a Friend, of course.
This has changed. The automated message did not say "friends line" last time I called!

Fwiw, unless someone can suggest a good reason for it, I'd just take out the 'Selection' stage - i.e. straight into your basket, 20-minues to pay or you lose it
Not sure what is gained by the extra step of 'Selection', plus it complicates things for other users..?
Fine if you're only booking 1 ticket per performance but a pain in the butt for everyone else (who probably represent a sizeable majority of users).

Row B in balcony … the woman in front of me to left kept leaning in towards her neighbours her right narrowing my view.
I did wonder … how short does someone have to be to qualify for one of the ROH cushions? I noticed a few adults around me using them. I’m hoping I qualify 🤞
I have used them when sitting in SC row C for rehearsals (I'm 5'4").

I did find a short cut from the Balcony into the Floral Hall
Should be even fewer steps to climb if you go up to the amphi level using that staircase rather than down to the FH (and no need to use the escalator)!

I’m happy with 3pm as it allows us to go to a concert at 1130 and also make it to the Proms in the evening!

If I don't get a front row seat for Anna Rose O'Sullivan's Kitri debut, I will be spitting feathers!
I was discussing with other Friends last night just how stressful ROH booking is at the best of times, without adding this into the mix.

There’s a clip of ASW’s promotions announcement to the company here.

No shame about it....I wouldn't have gone either, and in fact I won't see their Nutcracker again until they replace it.

Perfectly true but 1) there has been no 'acting' AD at ENB this season (so no toes for ASW to tread on); 2) the 2023/24 season announcement could arguably have been accompanied by an introductory reel from him; 3) he has owned the recent promotions and appointments but, so far, at a distance; and 4) his contract with Dresden ended last month (so no reins to hold him back).
Let's see how he 'plays' it when the Company returns after its summer break and he is unquestionably in charge.
I was only responding to the comment about lack of visibility - quite hard to be overly visible when he was still full time at Dresden until last month (as you said). Whilst there was no reel, ASW was at the season launch for the press and spoke to the new season and to his plans to be visible and an active AD from the time he takes over.

I'm a little underwhelmed by... the visibility of the new AD.
To be fair to him, ASW doesn't take over as full time AD until August 2023.

It’s a dreadful “artwork” and the All England Club should be ashamed having published it.

I've just been called by the box office. There are still problems with the Don Q pages. Very annoying as this caused my basket to be emptied earlier (but with the tickets I had selected then still showing as unavailable, so I had to wait 45 minutes to start again on those tickets.
Not very impressed.

As I was having problems opening the annual report from @oncnp's post, I've attached the pdf.

Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to Morera’s final performance but this has me remembering wasn’t this final performance filmed? I wonder if Anastasia Act III alone will be published on ROH stream. I could also see the chance of untitled being available on there, as they recently realised McGregors Limen and Chroma.
The final performance was not filmed (other than for archive purposes) but the first show in the run was filmed.

Thanks John - any thoughts on the production? I have been pondering whether to go to this but don't feel in the mood for urinals etc.
It’s not a new production and pretty traditional in nature (no urinals…).- 2
