Yes, but this conversation was about if he wanted it changed.
To be frank, I don't think it was.

When I was at the House last night I was on the terrace and showing my friend the costume department. Someone had put cut-out faces of Charles and Diana on the window so we could all see them. Either someone doesn’t realise that Diana is not going to be Queen, or they are being a bit disrespectful to all. I’m not sure what they were thinking…maybe it’s supposed to be a joke of some kind? 🤔
They have been there for years!

By the way, surely the Guardian is wrong in suggesting that Camilla too will be anointed? It should only be the Sovereign, surely?
No, The Queen is anointed too (but that is not covered from public view).

And talking of the RSN, some readers may be interested in this, about the anointing screen for the coronation:

That’s one good thing. It would be easy because all you would have to change is 2 letters.
That's not right. The whole cypher (including the crown) would need to change. It's an awful lot of work!
The cypher on the curtains reflects the monarch at the time the curtains were installed (1997 - made under the auspices of the Royal School of Needlework). There's no need to change that because there has been a change of monarch. We don't change the post-boxes. We don't change the gates and fences around Kensington Palace.

The curtains are not being changed at this point in time.

I’m sure you will feel bereft Nogoat as you often do at the end of any Ashton run …like Fille, Pigeons, or Month etc as you don’t know when they will be back again. And I felt the same about this Cinderella last week 😥
I’d give it 18 months or so…

Ah, yes, thanks oncnp. The obvious places are usually the right ones! I was so obsessed about the season announcement I thought performance dates must be there somewhere and I'd missed it. I never thought of the calendar! Hours of fun trawling through there then, though of course not a huge amount of use without casting. Still, it will give me some idea to work on and plan round. if only we had the old calendar back, with every performance laid out in date order, with it's own link. It was so basic and useful of course the the ROH tech people had to remove it. Now, if you don't know the date of a performance you're looking for you have to wade through pages of irrelevancies, but don't get me started on that again!
It's really quite easy, go to the what's on page then you can filter by booking period (all of the 23/24 periods are there). From there you get links to all the productions in that period and all the dates and times are on the production pages.
Friends of Covent Garden do, of course, get a written calendar for each booking period in the magazine (which is also available to them online) and, if I recall correctly, the dates are in the season guide sent to Friends.

PS ignoring the Swan Lake production and the non-artistic related incidents, would be curious to hear what you thought of Liam Scarlett’s Asphodel Meadows, Viscera, Age of Anxiety, Symphonic Dances, No Man’s Land (for ENB), Hummingbird (for SFB, if you’ve seen it), bridiem. You can include Sweet Violets if you wish. I’m leaving out Frankenstein though! 😁
Asphodel Meadows: excellent
Viscera: very good.
Age of Anxiety: below par.
Symphonic Dances: excellent.
No Man's Land: not his best.
Sweet Violets: good, could do with some edits, need to understand the characters.
Frankenstein: good grief, no.

Re the female choreographers discussion, I note that 3 of the 7 pieces in this season's International Draft Works were choreographed by female choreographers.

Apropos booking, unless I've misread the website there only seem to be 3 booking periods next year rather than the usual 4. I can only find 2nd August, 11th January and 27th March as public booking dates.
There are four booking periods as usual. The second date for public booking is 4 October.- 1

Not on the stage but I am looking forward to the display of costumes celebrating Nicholas Georgiadis's centenary and also Mary McCartney's photographs from behind the scenes of The Dante Project.

Especially pleased with Facade as I can't remember the last time it was staged here
BRB did it in 2015 IIFC.

The best place to see it anyway! I long to see Tiler Peck live in Balanchine.
Just to mention that the Northern Ballet programme in the Linbury includes new pieces by Tiler Peck and Ben Ella.

Is the second mixed bill all Sarasota ballet or only for one act?
As I read it, SB are only doing The Walk to the Paradise Garden in this bill. They have two full bills of their own!

I think there have been 2 fewer party couples in last week's performances, I have been missing Julia Roscoe in her lovely cream-coloured dress as one of the "lead" couples. However, Julia was in good form in class on stage on Friday morning so I presume she isn't injured and those 2 party couples have been dropped to make space on stage?
Has anyone else noticed? Am I imagining things?
All the shows I have seen have had 6 "dancing" couples, which is correct for the choreography.

Thankfully, it does look as though you can now walk up and buy a ticket again - supplies permitting. I had major concerns over privacy, the way they'd been doing it the past few years, and had consequently limited my purchases to the absolute essentials only.
Is there a list of concerts anywhere which doesn't involve massive amounts of clicking to see what's actually on?
Or you could buy a Proms Guide!

Exactly. I wouldn't have said that Osipova's recent Cinderella performances were overly "Ashtonian" but they were incredibly entertaining nonetheless.
