  1. Imagine a theatre has 100 seats. They are all excellent seats. Tickets go on sale at £150 each and a couple of days before the show, 80% have been sold. Management would like a full house, so they discount the remaining tickets and allow specified groups to buy tickets at £12. They all sell. Overall the ticket revenue is £12,240. If the tickets had gone on sale at £100 and all sold out, the ticket revenue would be £10,000.
  2. Doesn't leave a nasty taste in my mouth at all. If I book for something on the booking day and get the seats I want, I am happy and have certainty. Highly unlikely the seats I want would be available in any later discount offer.
  3. As also mentioned on the casting thread, here's the cast change announcement for tomorrow. Unfortunately, Steven McRae has sustained an injury and is unable to perform the role of Basilio. Therefore the following cast changes have been made: TUESDAY 17 OCTOBER, 7:30pm Anna Rose O'Sullivan is replaced by Fumi Kaneko as Kitri. Steven McRae is replaced by William Bracewell as Basilio.
  4. Don Quixote cast change just announced, as follows. TUESDAY 17 OCTOBER, 7:30pm Anna Rose O'Sullivan is replaced by Fumi Kaneko as Kitri. Steven McRae is replaced by William Bracewell as Basilio.

  13. I find the quickest way (from a standing start) is to google “ROH cast sheets”, though I frequent the page so much from my work computer, I now only have to type R O…
  14. I do find this chat around the ages of the ladies in Mayerling fascinating. As I think I have posted before, here are the ages of some of the dancers as of the first performance (14 February 1978): David Wall (Crown Prince Rudolf) - 31 Lynn Seymour (Mary Vetsera) - 38 Merle Park (Countess Mary Larisch) - 41 Georgina Parkinson (Empress Elizabeth) - 39 Michael Somes (Emperor Franz Josef) - 60 Wendy Ellis (Princess Stéphanie) - 26 David Drew (Bay Middleton) - 39
  15. The post to which I responded said absolutely nothing about higher priced seats.
  16. I paid £25 for my Rheingold ticket, not sure I could fly to either of those cities for that price!
  17. She was one half of the ROH's "in conversation" with Lauren Cuthbertson last year. I assumed she had been chosen for that by Ms Cuthbertson.
  18. But not as much in the way of sun or sandy beaches...
