  1. Just to be clear, AA in Wigmore Hall isn't really the front row, it's the seats to the side of the stage. Wigmore Hall seating plan
  2. As a professional pedant, I would say that statement is not entirely correct. Whilst several is more than 3 in the same way a square is a rectangle, most dictionaries say that several is more than 2.
  3. I have SCS D35 available for Don Quixote on 19 October. Face value is £14, please PM if interested.
  4. Just to add some colour on the Mithraeum (as I find this kind of thing fascinating and I remember seeing it many times when I moved to London). It was originally discovered in 1954 during excavation work for the construction of Bucklersbury House. It was rebuilt about 100 yards down the road and was open to the elements and visible from the pavement. Following demolition of that (awful) building, the temple has now been returned to its original location, which is now inside the bottom of the new Bloomberg building. And in a similar vein, there is also the Roman Amphitheatre under the Guildhall, accessed through the (free to enter) Guildhall Art Gallery. When walking through Guildhall Yard, you can see the footprint of the amphitheatre set out in the stones in the tard.
  5. They need to give 2 weeks notice (unless the employer agrees to shorter notice, which I doubt would happen)
  6. It's all in the season press release (which is somewhere on this forum) but can also be found here.
  7. Ashton at the ROH in the 23/24 season Valses nobles et sentimentales (1947) Dante Sonata (1940) Sinfonietta (1967) Façade (1931) Les Rendezvouz (1933) The Dream (1964) Rhapsody (1980) Five Brahms Waltzes (1976) The Walk to the Paradise Garden (1972) Hamlet & Ophelia (1977) MacMillan at the ROH in the 23/24 season Manon (1974) Requiem (1975) Danses concertantes (1955) Different Drummer (1984)
  8. I haven't really changed my purchasing plans, other than reflecting that I now have other demands on my time and sometimes when I'm going on my own (which is about 25% of the time), I'll usually booking a standing place so I don't feel quite as bad if I end up with a clash and have to get rid of the ticket (also more likely that it will go to someone on here!). For the current booking period, so far as ballet/dance is concerned, I have booked: Don Q - 10 + the rehearsal Anemoi/The Cellist - 3 (not a great fan of The Cellist but I'll give it another go) Dante Project - 5 Nutcracker - 11 Northern - 1 Ballet Black - 1 The Limit - 1
  9. The curtains are staying as they are until they need to be replaced. As mentioned before, existing post boxes and railings don't get changed when the monarch changes.
  10. The initial allocation of tickets in Munich is by ballot. If there are any seats left after the ballot has taken place, they can be chosen online in the usual way.
  11. Have you tried the chocolate aisle in your local supermarket? [SORRY - VERY BAD JOKE ALERT]
  12. To be honest, whilst there were only a handful of people who "came up" each year, your description of these students does not reflect my experience.
  13. I did the 11 plus. I note there were reviews at the end of each of the first three years on secondary education that allowed children to move into the grammar stream.
  14. This has changed. The automated message did not say "friends line" last time I called!
  15. Fine if you're only booking 1 ticket per performance but a pain in the butt for everyone else (who probably represent a sizeable majority of users).
  16. I have used them when sitting in SC row C for rehearsals (I'm 5'4").
