Royal Ballet Spring 2024
bangorballetboy replied to JohnS's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
If you are unable to understand why an organisation might use a targeted offer campaign then I really feel sorry for you. Your supermarket analogy only confirms that organisations do use such things. I get Nectar price offers from Sainsbury’s that are specifically targeted at me based on my shopping habits, sometimes on things I want to buy, sometimes on things I don’t usually buy but might (they hope) be tempted to. It is very clear that you are unhappy that you did not receive a targeted offer from the ROH. I didn’t receive it either but I am not unhappy about the situation because I understand what they are doing. However, your multiple posts on the topic are, IMO, getting very close to spamming the board so I would ask that you stop now (and I know others would agree with me making this request). -

There are loads of pictures of Different Drummer to be found online, some particularly wonderful ones of Ed Watson & Leanne Benjamin. -

The alternative to multiple tabs is to bookmark each production page or, as I prefer, the calendar at the month in which most of the performances being booked fall. -
ROH booking discussion - summer 2024

Having more than one tab open is definitely not the recommended procedure - the ROH advise the opposite and to have only one tab open. Not logging in before 0850 is recommended to avoid recognition issues when tickets are released. -

On the basis of what’s available today, it would appear that it is only “good seats” and maybe standing that are held back. -
FOR SALE RB Manon SCS 27 Feb
bangorballetboy replied to bangorballetboy's topic in Ticket Exchange & Special Offers
This ticket has been taken. -
Still not quite up to standing for the ballet (though I had to stand for most of the time at Wembley yesterday) so I have SCS D26 available for this performance - face value £14. Please PM if interested.

I think, from now on, I’ll be closing off bookings in groups of 7 or 8 events! -
ROH booking discussion - summer 2024
bangorballetboy replied to Blossom's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
I have just looked and one show has 94 tickets left and the others all have 100+. I checked two of the 100+ shows and there are tickets in all areas (in fact, it looks like there are more tickets available now than when I did my booking), except standing (which I think may not have been released yet, though I may be wrong). How very presumptuous and, to be frank, downright insulting. -
ROH booking discussion - summer 2024

I was about 17 events into my booking when I "lost my basket" (i.e. only the most recently selected tickets were in my basket and the rest were in another basket to which I no longer had access). Very annoying. In the end, though, I got everything I wanted (all the tickets from my original basket were released again at 0930), just with a lot more stress and an extra 15 minutes. Also annoying that the Ashton insight was taken off sale just before booking. -
Manon, Royal Ballet Winter 2024

As we’re now just over 4 weeks since my broken ankle, I’m not really available as a substitute any more. 🤓- 996 replies

That was exactly my point. You need to read the post to which I was responding (which was quoted in my original post). -
ROYAL BALLET NEW WORKS FEBRUARY 2024

I’m a bit confused by this. The clue for me is in the name: “Festival of New Choreography”. With the greatest respect to them, I wouldn’t call November, McNally, Binet, Bond, Zucchetti or Powell-Main particularly young and they are all well established choreographers. -

Definitely no Mayerling on BBC4 this weekend, though the programme on (Mad) King Ludwig's castles looks fun.- 1,146 replies

The ROH booking website - what can we do?
bangorballetboy replied to Geoff's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
Even better if they can find the Pats rehearsal picture where the snow fell on the dancers in one big dump!
