    We got an email offering DS a place from the wait list yesterday too! I emailed back accepting the place and received confirmation. I really hope it’s not a mistake as DS is thrilled x

    Hi. Is the wait for more information driving anyone else crazy? Unfortunately I’m the type who likes to be organised as far in advance as possible. Also patience is a serious weakness lol x

    My DS will be starting Y7. We don’t know anyone else who has gone through the vocational school process ever never mind this year but he said everyone at the funding audition was lovely and really friendly x

    Hello all. Thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for those of us with DCs starting at Hammond in September to share advice etc. could we please have no discussion of finance as requested by the school. We don’t want locked again 😃

    Just to offer some reassurance. My DS has just gained a year 7 place at his first choice school. he trained 4 times a week. RAD ballet, Scottish Ballet junior associates, tap/jazz and musical theatre/singing all spread through the week. He has no social media presence Other than when I post about him on my private account. we completed the video auditions with no help from his teacher what so ever. He did 2 30 minute privates with a male teacher we know just to sort the things he was unsure of. We used the dance floor of the local social club which we were allowed access to for 30 mins to film the parts that required more space than we have at home. we are the complete opposite of wealthy. He has danced for 5 years watching other kids get privates and go to every competition. We just couldn’t afford it. He has a scholarship for Scottish ballet. We live in one of the most deprived areas of Scotland. Vocational school is only possible for us due to lots of family support. At the end of the day all that mattered was his talent and potential x

    Ds is bringing ballet shoes and half shoes for lyrical etc his jazz shoes are beyond wrecked. hes also bringing his taps but only because he never goes anywhere without them lol x

    Hi. I phoned Hammond as I was worried about needing a test at short notice and they confirmed the kids will need one. They told me emails would be out yesterday but it’s looking like Monday now x

    I asked that. We are in Scotland so access to tests is more difficult and we have to leave on Tuesday afternoon. they said that if you have any issues reply to the email and they will try to sort something. I’ve just phoned ds school begging for a lateral flow test. They will let me know today if I can get one but they are supposed to be for teachers only. Just more stress to add into the mix x
