I really need to email RBS and make sure our videos haven't got lost in the ether 😳🥺

Not a single view yet. I really hope I did the IT bit right. 🤪
Me too! Still no views here either 😕

I could do with some of your optimism ... no views here yet so am concerned there was a pre-selection from photos which, in our case, would be sad as my DD has changed so much since they were taken 9 months ago! 😬
@Candycakes82 have your videos been viewed at all yet? Mine still haven't so I'm starting to worry something has gone wrong and they haven't received them? 🤔

No views at all yet! (Also Group 4)

It takes us 90 mins early in the morning as there's very little traffic! I know there are families that travel a long way to get to Elmhurst. My DD teacher always makes her class use the toilet before they leave, as she knows people have long journeys home!

@Candycakes82 thank you! 😊

Are you Year 4? 😁
Yes 😊

Thank you @The red shoes and @Spamcat that's useful information. That sounds like a wonderful day out!! (Those were the days......)
I was told children are never normally allowed to change their audition, we were only allowed because I asked before Group 3 (Bath) or Group 4 (Birmingham) had been submitted. It was a one off, I was lucky 😉 It probably makes no difference, as JA places are even harder to get this year! But it made no sense to apply for somewhere we couldn't go.
We're Purple group, 08.45 in Elmhurst 😊

@Spamcat I've managed to transfer my DD audition to Birmingham, since starting at Elmhurst last month. Bath is no longer possible for us to get to. We'd previously been to Bath on an insight day and had a private lesson this summer with the Bath JA teacher. I know nothing about Birmingham JA! Do you? Do you know what time the classes are? I've heard they're afternoons in Royal Birmingham building? Thank you ☺

Just had the reminder email. When we submitted we did not get a confirmation of receipt, it just took us to a page saying something like 'thank you for getting in touch'. I'm worrying they haven't received our videos. Did others get a confirmation?
Yes, don't worry, everyone gets the reminder! I worried at first too 😉

I imagine class sizes will have been reduced this year due to Covid? That must be why they are sending out some emails asking people to apply again next year.......

Out of interest, the teacher on our audition videos was from Birmingham which is where we are applying. Did each centre have different videos with their own teachers or did everyone have the Birmingham teacher?
Everyone had the same audition video. The teacher seemed nice 🙂

I’m filming my student this weekend. Please can someone advise as to how long the filming is? 30 mins? Longer?
Mine was 33 minutes in total. Like the others have said, it's in three parts. Good luck!
-
@SpamcatI sent the 3x videos as 3 separate links (took AGES to upload!) The connection disappeared after I stopped the 1st video, so the actual filming of each part was OK and the assessors won't have seen/heard me stressing!!

So is that just the 1 yes from Group 1?! 😲 Sounds like it is harder than ever to get in this year. Amazing result @Millicent!!
We are group 4 so not even done the video yet.
Did anyone else have sound issues on the video? I checked it yesterday and can hardly hear it.
I played the audition video through the laptop, but plugged this into the TV via a cable so DD could watch a big screen. Sound not too bad. Then lost connection between the two, had a nightmare 🙈 then played the link directly via YouTube app on the smart TV. The last option worked the best; no lag and good sound 👌

I have the opposite problem for my DS at Tring. The elmhurst full sole canvas shoes are fine but the soles get dirty so quickly and I wish they’d allow leather. For Tring CBA they’re a strategy canvas split sole, and he can’t get them on. He’s a 3 in ‘normal’ canvas shoes but looks like he’s seriously need a 4.5 in the canvas stretch split sole.
It's just so hard to get ballet shoes to fit properly! Hopefully a bigger size might work for your DS 🤞🏻
I'm going to do the same as @BellaF and @Daintydancer and allow my DD to wear her stretch canvas split soles, which come in a narrow width and fit really well. I'll see how long we can get away with it for!

Does anyone know if it's acceptable to wear either canvas split soles or leather full soles? I've tried 3x canvas full soles for my DD. Nothing fits properly, all too wide. The drawstring is rubbing her ankle now but without it done up tightly the shoe is far too loose! I was going to email Elmhurst but don't want to be frowned upon 😉 Thanks

@Sass22if you upload to YouTube you can view activity through the YouTube Studio app. I'm not sure how to see via One Drive 😕

Thanks - sorry am a little confused ha, does that mean a month for group 4 from that date or a further month for all the groups, eg group 1?
As I understood it, this was just Group 4. Hopefully other groups should start hearing soon!
-
I was told today by the Audition team that Group 4 has only just been sent out. It will take 2.5 weeks for those videos to be looked at, and a month before we are given results. I hope that info helps people! The main admin lady is back from A/L now, so emails sent last week and the week before were probably by her assistant. That maybe accounts for the mixed messages x

I only wondered about all of this as it's hard to see which are the yr4. I didn't know the intake size.
@Bookishmy DD friends (identical twin girls) are in the same group as you!
-
It must be different to make bubbles this year? My DD is in a different group from her yr4 friends. She's one of 16 in the group, 4 boys, 12 girls and she says definitely yr 5 who were there last year and new Yr 4's 🤔 She's loving it though!
It will be nice when they can get back to normal again.
-
@Spamcatthank you, but I've already ordered the uniform! I went for the smaller size, so if ut is too small I might take you up on that 😉 My DD definitely has boys in the class. And as they go in, I've been looking and some children look older, and I'd say at least half already had uniform on the first day and knew each other. Yr 4 were only accepted the week before term started, so none of us have uniform as it's all out of stock!
For reference, we're 08.45-10, Door C (purple group with Miss Sherman) X

Just out of interest, does anyone know the year group size in Birmingham YD? It's hard to see who is who, as yr4 seem to be mixed with yr5. Mixed boys and girls as well? I thought it was 20 per year group? But they're all split into groups of 15. And has anyone managed to get the uniform yet??
