Thank you both! I think we've made an expensive mistake 😳🤣 At least we've realised now, rather than when the poor kids try to drag their mats into the studio!!

Can anyone who is an existing Young Dancer advise on the 'dance mat or towel' email please? Another Mum and I thought it wouldn't be possible for the young dancers to dance on a towel, so we invested in dance mats. They've arrived, and are huge/heavy 😱 Too big, we feel? What are people's thoughts? TIA

@SarahG1881 we had an email this afternoon, didn't you? Yr4 is 08.45-10am. No jazz class this term. Loads of info and forms to fill in! I would contact the school if you haven't received anything.

Hi, has anyone had an email yet for Group 3 video auditions for year 4 and 5 JAs (the group that includes Eastleigh)? I just want to make sure I haven’t missed an email! Thank you
No, my DD is also group 3 and there's been no email yet.

In a ‘normal’ audition year all the results would be in and children would then make their acceptances. This year is of course far from normal which I’m sure all schools accept that there will be ‘movement’ of children later get offered another programme. Elmhurst still have children on reserve waiting lists, so if you did accept and then later leave, there would equally be another child waiting patiently and very grateful for that space when it comes free.
Good point! My dd has also been offered a place at Elmhurst (Birmingham yr4, starting on Saturday) She's really pleased 😊

@SarahG1881we were in the same group! 🙂

My DD also audioned on Saturday, in the 10.30 group. She really enjoyed it 🙂 My issue is that she's also applied for RBS JA. We're in Group 3 (Bath) and still awaiting the email with the video link in. I know realistically she's unlikely to get in.....however, Bath is much closer to home. Given a choice, we'd choose Royal over Elmhurst, purely due to mileage and time. We can't get to both. But it looks like Elmhurst are going to let us know before we've even submitted a video for JA!! I know I'm worrying over nothing as getting a place with Royal at yr4 is unlikely. But I'm already imagining a huge dilemma? 😕

@Spamcatwe are Group 3 and are still waiting for our email!

Bath JA's: can anyone tell me the current times of classes please? V little info and no point applying for something we really can't make! I believe Birmingham JA are early afternoon on Saturdays, to fit with Young Dancers?? Many thanks x

@In at the deep end I highly recommend Elmhurst, my daughter is in year 4 there and loves it!
On another subject, did any other young dancers on here apply for the Royal Opera House chance to dance Easter school? I am intrigued to know what they mean by a ballot. Do they mean people vote for who gets in and if so how do they know who they are voting for if there is no audition?
Thank you @Spamcat My DD would be applying for a yr4 place, and she is also tiny for her age! Her birthday is in June, so she's be a young one. I have a friend who really recommends Elmhust too, I just didn't know if we could commit to a long journey every week.... It's good to hear that your daughter loves it too. We may well just try and audition and see what it's like! Then wait and hear if they like her😉

Thank you TinyNEDancer! It will probably never happen, but I just wanted a little mental preparation! DD teacher is helping me take photos next week, so I thought it was about time I started a little research of my own 😉 Unfortunately, although my friend's daughter loves BBA in Devon, we just can't get there on Sundays. Birmingham is a long way, especially commit to every week. Radstock is the most convenient, but unlikely to get a place haha!
Apologies for starting up this thread again, but I guessed several of you might know the answers to my questions 🙂

Thanks for your answers! We're near Bristol. I know someone in BBA Devon, and have seen the timetable there. I'm just trying to weigh up which would be do-able. I'm not expecting her to get in, but don't want to waste anyone's time by auditioning for somewhere we couldn't commit to, should the chance arise!

RBS JA is every week for us in Leeds too.
Wow, we went to the insight day in Bath and were told it would be roughly once once month! If DD were to get in, this would be even more time consuming than I first thought!! 😕

Hi everyone! I apologise for the stupid question, but the time has almost come to start applications for RBS JA, Ballet Boost BBA and Elmhurst Junior dancers. I'd like to see them all, just to get a feel for each and I think it would be a good experience for both me (no dance background!!) and my daughter?
Could I confirm that Elmhurst is every Saturday? The others are about once a month? Many thanks x
