    We have a predicted no for WL year 10 but a yes for Elmhurst. Her teacher said not to expect WL this year so she's very happy with the Elmhurst result. As a late starter, we were aiming for 16 and upper school so we have more than expected this year. All the hard work pays off.. There are many routes to success!

    Does anyone have any experience of applying for this school through the summer school ? On the registration form there are a number of spaces for video links but no visible advice on what they would like, or how many videos are required.. Many thanks!

    London junior/senior ballet is fantastic.

    I don't think WL have sent out audition info yet.. we're also expecting to hear but I think it may nearer the time?

    Yes, the IF includes pointe work. I'm guessing that they generally wear flats for the rest of the IF exam as they tend to be quite young still, so need to build up foot strength..?

    Thank you for all the helpful comments. I will get her some soft pointes and see how she gets on. The private teacher does a different syllabus with her but occasionally goes through RAD stuff to help. I was under the impression that soft pointes were optional for the local dance school but recently found out that they're meant to be in them all the time! Hard to keep everyone happy - don't want to undermine her old dance school teacher, but want to do what's best for my daughter, too!

    Thank you all for the comments. She's doing the exam with her local dance school, whose students will all be wearing soft blocks. Her private teacher and also her associate program teacher say that it's better not to at this stage so she learns to use her feet better, which I totally understand. Problem is, my daughter will then feel uncomfortable if she's the only one in exam with flats! If she's not used to wearing them, will she then loose marks on her foot line?
