    DancingShoes, that's exactly what I had! So glad it wasn't just me but yes, one email was bad enough but three....! Congrats to all who got a straight yes and to those wait listed.

    Something a little odd is going on - I've now had 3 emails for WL SS for my daughter, all placing her on the waiting list which is absolutely fine. But the third one had the words "CORRECT RESULT" in the subject line but it was exactly the same email as the first two! Anyone else had multiple emails through or is it just me??

    Oh my goodness vonrothbart! I hadn't realised it could be as few as only 4 called back for Y8 at WL!! That really does put my DD's result in an extraordinary light to me *gulp* I had gathered that there may only be 1 place available anyway so had assumed they wouldn't be too cruel to call lots back but still....

    So sorry for the no mom2dancingkenz but lovely attitude your DD has. I don't know how our DC have so much strength but last year's no's have made my daughter even more determined which shows in this year's results. Now just the stress of finals to get through which won't be easy.

    Postman has finally been and I am in a total state of shock. My DD has also got finals for Elmhurst (Yr8)!!!! So, so proud of her as I wasn't expecting it, particularly after hearing that other girls who had finals last year at WL and Elmhurst weren't so fortunate this year (Lema, your DD's attitude is amazing, such a credit to you and I really wish her well at Tring and Hammond). To all the yes's - well done and all the best for the next step and to all the No's, it really is a not this time. Do, do try again as it may well be your DC's turn in the not too distant future.

    She hasn't even seen the schools so I don't really know why other than, for her, it's all about ballet and the Royal and has to be WL or Elmhurst. Other people have told me (and her) a lot of positive things about the other schools, including her local teacher who went to Hammond several years ago now, but she says it's not for her. Whether she'll change her mind another year, who knows.

    Wouldn't it be lovely Lema if she heard correctly but I think getting this result will lessen any impact a yes or no from Elmhurst will give her now. She refused to audition at Hammond or Tring so if she gets a 50% success rate like your DD, that's good enough for me. And it does prove that persistence can pay off whereas giving up at the first no gets them nowhere in the dance world.

    Lema, so sorry about Elmhurst but, as others have said, truely fantastic that your daughter has got 2 yes's. Such an achievement on it's own, particuarly when it is harder with fewer places being available for the older years. We have yet to hear from Elmhurst although my DD is expecting a yes as she said she saw Mr Parker say to the person next to him that he definitely wanted her back again (I said to her are you sure he wasn't saying somthing like "oh I see she's back again", trying to keep her feet on the ground a bit). Have any other Royal results come out from the Bath audition (I think that was the first one on the calendar)?

    No we didn't get WL finals last year, only Elmhurst so really unexpected. Her JA (now MA) teacher did tell me last year that she had the talent but not enough polish, this year she told me she looked really good during the audition session. Just amazed, particularly as she received a nomination a couple of days before Christmas to attend the 2017 IDTA Dance Theatre Awards (apparently too late for this year's awards). Fingers crossed for her that all goes well on the day

    Thank you amos73. We auditioned in Bath for a yr8 place which makes it all the more stunning in my head!

    I am currently in a state of amazed shock - I have just had an email from the Royal and my DD has been invited back for Finals! She's currently in a dance lesson and I haven't been able to tell her yet but I am so delighted and tearful, all at the same time. We were expecting a thanks but no thanks from the Royal and hoping for an invite for Elmhurst (we haven't heard from them yet) and she told me this afternoon that she wasn't expecting to get any callbacks so this is just brilliant. I will come back down to earth eventually.

    Hi Lema, and thank you. Yes, another Year 8. My DD was invited to Elmhurst finals last year but didn't make it further and, like all of them, was devastated. She was lucky to get an MA's place from being on the SWL and insisted on re-auditioning for WL and Elmhurst again this year. Not sure I can handle all the angst again but am pleased she is so determined so here we are again.... I have stressed and stressed to her that these auditions are more than likely just an extra ballet lesson as the likelihood of a place being available is slim. Not sure she's really listened but she was super relaxed last week and really enjoyed the day.

    Thank you Janet :-) I've been quietly reading posts both this month and last year. Like everyone, I have a DC who is anxiously awaiting results for the second year in a row which is why I've been a quiet stalker!

    I don't think any results from last Thursday's (21/1) auditions have arrived yet, only those from last Tuesday. So I wouldn't worry just yet if you were on the 21st.
