    Having trouble finding somewhere to go for new pointe shoes - DD has had grishko 2007 for a while now but feet changing shape and want to try some other options. Looking for somewhere preferably around Hampshire/Surrey/West Sussex so if anyone has anywhere they can recommend that would be great. Thank you!!

    We just got the numbers and no comment, not even one word... Guess it's not surprising when they've had so many different teachers, don't think their current one has s clue who is who, certainly not enough to make a relevant comment. But it is disappointing.

    We got ours yesterday (dd in group 4) but have to say hardly worth the wait... Expected more than a list of numbers.

    Any news from those who were at CBA today on when assessments will be out? (We also couldn't be there today as regional finals)

    Can I ask roughly what the class size would be and is it spilt by age/ability? It sounds interesting.

    Saw on the upper school thread that 3 MDS awards might be available (Tring students that have just been accepted into RBS upper school)... so wanted to wish good luck to anyone on the reserve list.

    Reserve list for us too.... seems like quite a big list too judging by this forum! Does anyone know how many get reserve list or if it is pretty much everyone from finals?

    I wish the audition process was more like the US when you are assessed on a whole couple of weeks rather than an hour. Seems harsh that an hour decides your fate... especially if it's the wrong hour!

    Thanks Harwel, seems a bit unfair on lower school children when 6th form have DaDa's they can apply for too (unless the school has more or less unlimited MDS awards, like RBS)...

    Good luck from us too... I'm definitely more nervous than DD and think this wait is going to be worse than the first time round!! Slightly wishing I hadn't asked but have been told by Tring that there are over 60 at Wednesday's finals for 9 MDS places. They also implied this was for years 7 to 12 which surprised me (didn't know year 12 could apply for MDS awards) unless it was a mistake and they meant year 11)

    Goodness, doesn't help the odds if they've offered MDS places pre finals... lets hope this DC is so amazing she'll be taking up at place at RBS or Elmhurst & free that MDS back up!!

    We have also been changed to 1.15 (year 10 entry)... looks like they have split the year 10s off perhaps? Anyone not for year 10 in the new 1.15 group?

    Thanks Harwel. Finals are 11th March, so looming fast.... it will be nice when it's all over and I can stop thinking about it all!!

    Ok, starting to panic now finals are looming!! How on earth do you stand out in an hour long class which is mixed year 8, 9 & 10? By the nature of the range of ages, I can't see it being anything more than a fairly simple class which means the older ones should all look equally good in it.... wishing they had a longer session for finals like the prelims. Feeling very stressed (even though I know there is absolutely nothing I can do!!! :-(

    I don't see how they can know for sure the number of MDS awards as upper school finals are still happening so presumably some pupils may still get accepted elsewhere and free up some awards? I would guess the 7 that has been said is what they definitely know they have... I'm being optimistic that there may be a couple more that arise... It'll be interesting to see how many they end up having at finals fighting for the places! Such a shame that it comes down to this when we should all be celebrating the fact that we have talented children who have just been offered a place at an amazing school. :-)

    Maybe we should start a post about how wonderful Rbs, elmhurst & hammond are!! Lol! Are other finals before Tring?

    Piccolo, like your thinking!! Lets hope a bunch of year 11's on MDS awards leave for elsewhere to free up a few more!! Not loving the odds at the moment... :-) Having been told at audition that there wouldn't be funding for year 10 entry except in exceptional circumstances, am just relieved to be in with a chance... although know of at least 3 through for year 10, so maybe that was a bit of a bluff!!

    Lema, what time is your final? Ours is 11.15... Trying to work out how many they have for finals and what the odds are for funding!!! I am assuming as we are year 10 entry that DD will be with older ones than year 7s??

    Does anyone know if Tring finals are years 7-10 all in one class or do they have more than one class?

    Also a very proud mum here, heard yesterday DD offered a place and funding finals!!!!!! Shocked and excited all at the same time! Congratulations also to your DD Lema & Swaybacksapphire, I hope it's good news today for you. :-)
