  1. Fabulous, great to hear some good news, so very pleased for her x
  2. So sorry amber21, I agree, it was a lovely experience, best of luck for Tring and the mids. My dd had a good cry and then said it probably wasn't the best time to leave home cos she's just had her bedroom redecorated ! We have had a treat tea to celebrate how far she has come.
  3. Thank you, I never dreamt that my dd would make it so far so getting to the finals was a massive achievement for us. I am happy that I get to keep my dd at home for a bit longer.
  4. It's a no for us for WL, the letter arrived this morning and I must admit to being a little relieved. My dd will be a little sad but ok. Just got to keep our fingers crossed for a MA place. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
  5. Congratulations to your DS Suzyszoo . We are currently in a hotel in Richmond with a very excited dd who has her final audition at WL tomorrow . :-)
  6. Fantastic news pirouette26 a huge well done to your dd
  7. So sorry to hear the nos for these obviously very talented children. The margins between yes and no must be very fine at this stage. I have heard many stories of children who have had a no which has become a yes in the future. I know this is not very comforting at the moment whilst it is still raw, so break out the chocolate and wine (for the parents :-) ) good luck and hang on in there.
  8. Huge Congratulations to your dd dance momma, I have everything crossed for those who are still waiting
  9. Thank you for your congratulations. I will pass them on to dd. We auditioned at Manchester balletmum16. A huge good luck to everyone awaiting results
  10. In a state of shock, dd has got a yes for WL finals!
  11. I feel like going out and hunting the postman down and demanding he hands over his mail!!
  12. Good luck to everyone auditioning,my dd auditioned on the 23rd and really enjoyed it ! Even though the day had not started well as her hair had chosen this day to to rebel and refused to go up neatly. Then the journey which usually takes 35 mins took 1 1/2 hours. Luckily we had set off very very early so we arrived on time. We were just a little bit disappointed with the "competitive warming up" that was going on. Luckily my dd wasn't bothered by this and was more concerned with my cold hands trying to pin her number on :-) My dd came out of the audition very happy so whatever the outcome she had a lovely morning off school to do dance . ( and we had cake afterwards too)
  13. Thanks Janet, The files are called press and clamp. These allow you to put in paper without having to make holes. I couldn't find this type in tesco etc just the arch lever type (as you mentioned) but found them online at Amazon. I would like to wish everyone's dc a fabulous year of dance xx
  14. I've Not had email re general rehearsal day for dd for Manchester ja ? Is it for a particular year group? I have also purchased file from Amazon :-)
  15. Hello, dd's uniform arrived today so I thought I'd post some measurements to help anyone about to order.I ordered age 11 and I received top and bottoms age 9-11 to fit height 140cm. The bottoms are elasticated at the ankle and have an inside leg of 24 inches and measure 32 inches from waistband to bottom of trouser leg when measured down front(trousers designed to be finish elasticated at ankles) , the waist is fully elasticated and is about 21/22 inches at its smallest. The zip up top measures approx 18 inches across front from armpit to armpit, 23 1/2 inches from nape of neck to bottom of jacket and 18 inches under the arm.My dd is 10 and about 141cm tall inside leg 26 1/2 to floor (not to ankle) waist about 20 and although outfit is roomy width ways The length looks about right (wouldn't want to go any smaller) Hope this is of help to anyone who is ordering x
  16. They were on pointe in Preston too :-)
  17. My dd's local dance school uniform has a pull over the head sweatshirt. Pulling it on and off trying not to disturb her hair became like a military exercise and by the time we'd managed to wrestle it off she did look like she had been dragged through a hedge backwards!(and a little red of face because I think the neck was a little small so I really had to pull and virtually drag her around the room to get it off :-) ) Needless to say dd stopped wearing it.She is looking forward to getting the ja zip up one.
  18. Hi,I'm about to order my DD's uniform. Does anyone know if the zip up sweatshirts are big/small sizing. My dd would love one but I'm unsure what size to order.thanks
  19. My dd danced the part of a cygnet with EYB in Preston and loved every single minute of the whole experience. This was her second time performing with EYB ( previously danced in Giselle in Manchester) The days were long but my dd learnt so much and made many friends. She also has memories she will cherish a lifetime.(me also)
  20. Just handed in the dates to school for them to look at. It amounts to 10 Friday mornings (for us)off school in total as some fall on holiday dates. They seemed quite positive :-)
  21. Thank you Legseleven , I too just hope my dd Has a wonderful time and makes new friends. She is very lucky to have the opportunity to do this x
  22. Hello Legseleven, the classes are either a Sunday or a Friday. So only one session per week. I am certain DD's school will be fine as they have been very supportive. I had just assumed they would be after school and hadn't even thought of the possibility of some being during the day. ( the naivety of a newbie) but it'll be fine and we can work round work etc :-)
  23. I also thought it was just a Sunday time at first, but I've looked through (hoping to find a later time somewhere) and cannot find one so I guess it must be the same time on both days! Hope school is OK with this as I'd told them dd wouldn't have to miss much school. It is quite a late start date. Good luck with your head teacher Snape . I think I'll have to volunteer to help at the school summer fair and then drop it into the conversation ha ha :-)
  24. Hello Snape, it says group 2 (my dd will be y6) that the Fridays (and Sundays) are 10.00am - 12.15 ! A bit of a surprise as I had kind of wrongly assumed they would be after school . The start date is Sunday 22nd Sept xx
