EYB-Sleeping Beauty - and footcare questions!
sparkledust replied to Danceroo's topic in Doing Dance
By chance I got chatting to a mum at the EYB rehearsal yesterday about sore feet. She told me about the freezing water/foot bath idea which sounded terrible to me. I told my dd and she was so keen to try anything to relieve her sore big toes she gave it a go. It wasn't pleasant but this morning dd woke up with a smile and said her feet felt completely normal. So, if you dd's can stand it it might just work for them too! -

Done. That was easy! -
dd said the street dance teacher was fantastic. Actually she enjoyed all the lessons but particularly ballet (no surprise) and street (total surprise)

dd has just had a wonderful week at the Hammond ss. it was lovely to see the performance this afternoon and great to see different dancers shine in different disciplines. I particularly enjoyed the street dance section and my classical dd "dancing with attitude"!

Thanks pups_mum, she can't wait for the rehearsals to start now!

Well done to your dd tracey47. My dd was there too and was delighted to be cast on pointe as she has done very little pointe work (don't know if she will be so delighted when her feet hurt though!) She is going to be a nursemaid and a hungarian dancer - again no idea what this involves but I am happy that my dd is happy

Of course now we are all dying to know what was in the letter!!

dd is doing Hammond for the first time this year and really looking forward to it. Anyone else?

When you are on this site asking for advice/help/support from other mums! -
Have replied Black Swan - that sounds great!

Have replied!

Thanks, my dd has been lucky enough to take part in Giselle, Manchester and Nutcracker, Stoke on Trent but this time we won't know anyone so it would be good to see a friendly face!
-
My dd is getting very excited about dancing in Swan Lake with EYB, however with a son about to go to University and a daughter off to boarding school all about the same time it is causing us a few logistical nightmares. If there Is anyone in the South Cheshire area who is interested in sharing lifts could you PM me. Thanks
-
Yes it is a shame about Hammond. It seems you need to get onto these schemes early, but at least I have saved you a phonecall!
-
We are in exactly the same position as your pupil dancerbabe, but Just to let you know Hammond are not taking any girls for their associate scheme this year. Good luck in finding something suitable.

Hi Frangapani, I can't see how to send you a PM on this forum but I seem to remember from the old forum that you will darn pointe shoes. My dd and I spent a lovely day in London having pointe shoes fitted but I can't face the thought of darning another pair! I dutifully darned the first in November and for a while I thought my fingers would never recover. If this is still your "sideline" could you send me a PM?Many thanks SD
