LinMM
I read the article John and I feel a little disappointed that he said that perhaps the principals shouldn't come along. I can see where he's coming from but it is a little prejudicial in my view I just can't stand all this sort of inverse snobbery about ballet etc If he had tried the principals and it somehow hadn't worked out that would have been more respectful and open. LinMM
I meant invite the principals along with everyone else in the company if he just wanted to treat them as one group.....nothing wrong with that....not just invite the principals. I am still really surprised a professional choreographer invited to create something for the Royal would say this. Does it actually show a lack of faith in his own work? alison
If you've seen any of his work, Lin, you'll know he tends to work with a non-hierarchical group, and relatively en masse rather than as individuals. So principals probably wouldn't have been particularly suitable: plus an awful lot of them were already involved in other parts of the programme anyway.
