Danceroo Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My DD and her friend auditioned in the junior section and thankfully both got in. Just wondered for those who have done Swan Lake before what are the roles for 11 year olds? Also did anybody else audition? We had a nightmare getting there due to a huge traffic accident. This will be my DD's second EYB and she is really looking forward to it. 2
aballetlife Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 the roles aren't usually done by ages it's more height and how people work as a group but the parts I can think of are: lady in waiting/Hungarian dancer cygnet Spanish courtier that's all I can think of! congrats to your dd and friend
balletmum20 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yes we also auditioned yesterday for the junior section and dd was offered the full scholarship, which we were both very surprised to be offered, this is her 1st time doing it as she is only 9, but very excited x 6
Danceroo Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Congratulations- what a nice surprise. What no was she? My dd said little a girl from CBA won the scholarship. Must have been your dd.
balletmum20 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yes she is from cba, she was number 50, in a blue leotard x
Nancy19 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My daughter did swan lake last year and was 11, she had the role of a 'little mariinsky' ( think that's spelt right!! ). She loved swan lake her favourite yet. Well done to all those who gained a place ????
Lemongirl Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 11 year olds - if en pointe then possibly little Mariinsky. If not then courtier or maybe cygnet.
Nancy19 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Sorry! Should have said it was a pointe part, all the girls who had that part were 11 - 13 yrs old. x
aballetlife Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 yeah if she's on pointe she could be a little mariinksy or if she's tall maybe a sean or mariinksy dancer
