sarahw Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Hi all, I wonder if anyone can make any recommendations? Currently we use a stage foundation but it is so heavy and greasy and hard to spread evenly. Has anyone successfully used a normal foundation (and which one?) at festivals? I don't mind if it needs 'topping up' between dances.... Thank you!
Flit and float Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I've always used Max Factor panstick (you get it in Boots) on the advice years & years ago from a professional dancer, quite a few pros I know use it. It's like a heavier normal foundation, it looks really bright to begin with (my shade does anyway) but once you spread it out with a sponge it's fine. Withstands sweat etc and covers marks (& tattoos sometimes). Lasts for ages too!
FelixGirl Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 DD always used a pancake make-up by Kryolan, water soluble, goes on with a damp sponge (a bit like face paint!) and dries to a powdery non-greasy finish. It is very easy to put on, and comes off easily with baby lotion or make-up wipes!
taxi4ballet Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 DD just uses normal foundation in a darker shade than usual, and one with a matte finish. 1
sarahw Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks for the ideas - will go shopping. ....
happy days Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Max factor pan stick for us too. Amazon seem to sell it cheaper than boots.
maz340 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I usually use a mineral foundation one shade darker than normal as I find my skin breaks out horribly after a week of makeup, sweat and stress! Just make sure to use a decent concealer as well as the coverage won't be amazing.
sarahw Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 Hi all went for the Max Factor pan stick as wanted to match shade as not confident to buy online. Got it in Superdrug as well as Boots. There was a shade which matched well. It was easy to spread and lasted well. Thanks for the advice.
