Betty
Hi Can anyone give me any experiences, info, advice about Associate classes in London, specifically at ENBS, Rambert, Central - the last 2 offer full days for cheaper. Any recommendations, or elsewhere that I've missed for Saturday (not RBS). Is Rambert good for classical ballet? Context is 15 year old girl at ENBS senior associates currently for the 1st year, I don't know what happens next year, if it is just a repeat of this year, (9:30-1, ballet class and Rambert syllabus contemporary class). Currently she has to reaudition like everyone else to continue into Yr 2 and there's been no feedback on her progress or anything. It has been a good grounding in technique but I wonder if she could be learning more elsewhere, esp where there are full days on offer for less money...? Thankyou if anyone has any experiences to share, it would be helpful.

JJBalletMum
I can’t speak highly enough about Central. My DD is just coming to the end of pre seniors. She’s been there for 3 years. The day is 10-5. There’s ballet, pointe, Pilates, contemporary, repertoire and PDD. There’s breaks in between all the classes so there’s plenty of time to socialise. We get reports during the year and feedback after the annual assessment. The associate course administrator is excellent and usually replies to any queries immediately. My DD has been very happy with all the teachers. You attend the first day with your dancer. You have the opportunity to watch the last day of the autumn term and the performance on the last day of the summer term. It’s very near Waterloo and the studios are brand new. We’ve been really happy with it.
Betty
Thankyou - am very glad we have an audition organised at Central then. Very exciting. What age does it stop at? My next task will be to find something to replace associates for the 16-18 year A level years.
Pas de Quatre
I have had pupils at both Central Preseniors and Rambert Prevocational. Both schemes provide excellent training and they all loved their courses. Central Preseniors goes from age 11 up to 16. Rambert goes from age 14 up to 20, although I think most on the course are late teens.

Roberta
Not so well known is the Cecchetti Associates scheme, held three times a term on Sundays plus there is a summer school. For many students it could be the extra boost they need while still able to carry on with other training & classes. It's not only for those training in the Cecchetti Method. From 7 to 18. It's a chance also to network and make friends. There is also a choreographic competition. This is based at Rambert. Next auditions June. There are a small number of scholarships. The scheme has been running for 25 years. https://www.cecchettiassociates.dance/ https://www.cecchettiassociates.dance/summer-school https://www.cecchettiassociates.dance/history https://www.cecchettiassociates.dance/choreographic https://www.facebook.com/CecchettiAssociatesCentral/ Two other schemes in Wales and Warrington Edited April 23 by Roberta

I wish I'd known about it when my daughter finished her five years at Central Associates back in 2022 as would definitely have applied. Missed an opportunity there!
