  1. I can’t speak highly enough about Central. My DD is just coming to the end of pre seniors. She’s been there for 3 years. The day is 10-5. There’s ballet, pointe, Pilates, contemporary, repertoire and PDD. There’s breaks in between all the classes so there’s plenty of time to socialise. We get reports during the year and feedback after the annual assessment. The associate course administrator is excellent and usually replies to any queries immediately. My DD has been very happy with all the teachers. You attend the first day with your dancer. You have the opportunity to watch the last day of the autumn term and the performance on the last day of the summer term. It’s very near Waterloo and the studios are brand new. We’ve been really happy with it.
  2. Congratulations to your DD! We’re still waiting for one last final and then we’ll know where my DD is going. What a process this has been! 🤦🏻‍♀️
  3. No, which is why it was a bit unexpected.
  4. Hi, following an unsuccessful audition for RBS upper school my daughter has unexpectedly been put on the short waitlist for advanced associates. Does anyone have any experience of this waitlist or how “short” it is? Do the dancers that attend this associate class do it in addition to vocational upper school or academic 6th form? Just wondering if it might work for her. Thanks
  5. Hi, my daughter was at the Elite Ballet Project for just over 2 years and I’d recommend it. She did about a year in mids and another in seniors. There were excellent guest ballet teachers from the top ballet schools and performing ballerinas. The contemporary was very good too. Because it’s on Sundays a lot of the girls also did associate classes elsewhere (Royal, Central) on Saturdays. My daughter found the ballet to be a good standard and enjoyed the classes.
  6. Hello, does anyone have a dancer attending the funding audition on 17 March? Have you received the Self Declaration of Income Form for the DaDA? It was due to be sent out at some point and returned a week before the audition. We don’t seem to have received it. I’ve emailed the school this afternoon but no reply as yet. Thanks in advance.
  7. Not as difficult as RBS! My DD was there last year. There were dancers from all over the world. At the final performance we were told there was a waitlist of 100. Overall it was a very good summer school and it’s always worth applying.
  8. My daughter’s in year 11 and has been an associate at Central for several years. We were told that there would be absolutely no preference given to the associates in their application to upper school. Having said that, as far as I know, they have all got through to finals. I’d certainly recommend Central associates particularly the final, pre-senior year. It’s a full day with ballet, pointe, Pilates, contemporary, repertoire and pas de deux. My daughter also successfully auditioned for ENBS associates this year but chose to stay at Central because of both the quality and quantity of training.
  9. Hi, I’m not sure about accommodation because we’re in London and my DD will commute if she gets a place, but we’ve been told that they take 90-100 dancers through to finals and there are 40 places. Best of luck!
  10. Hi, my daughter recently auditioned and in her words said the pointe work was quite simple with a few exercises at barre (mostly just rises and echappes) and in the centre they did echappes and an exercise with pirouettes but you were able to do singles. Happy to add any further details if you’d like.
  11. There’s another preliminary audition in Glasgow on 23 Feb. Maybe we won’t hear until after that?
  12. Not sure how it works but any emails will go direct to the dancer. Hope we hear soon!
  13. Has anyone heard back from any of the prelim auditions for RCS? Thanks
  14. My daughter did her audition on Friday the 8th of December and we had a reply the following Wednesday (13th). Best of luck!
  15. My daughter has been offered a place at Tring and a Dada audition. Does anyone know how many dancers there are likely to be at the funding audition and what proportion are likely to receive a significant award? We’re delighted she’s received this offer and are trying not to get our hopes up because we are dependent on the funding. Thanks in advance.
