Hi Kitten, for RB Associates there are a limited number of places in each class.  Offers are made to fill the vacancies and those they like but don't have room for at first go on the waiting list.  Places do come up as some dancers may not take theirs up, for a variety of reasons.  Mids often sees some movement, the dancer may have been offered a place at a Vocational school, or at another Associate/CAT scheme which suits them better.  I even know of a case in a MIds class where I had pupils, of a dancer deciding that she preferred to do the sporting acitivity on Saturdays at the new Academic school she had joined for Year 7 and stopped MIds after a few weeks.

There is definitely hope. I know of two who were in vocational school at the same time and didn’t attend after the first few weeks. I know of someone who preferred another associates scheme and so left after the first two weeks of mid associates. Some “vocational type” schools prefer their students to attend Saturdays in their schools. People leave or give up their places for a variety of reasons.

We have just returned a yr 7 mids place in Birmingham as dd is very lucky to be going to Elmhurst. Good luck to everyone on the waiting list, hopefully there will be news soon 🤞🤞

Just to add dd was on waiting list for ja last yr and got an offer in July!

Nothing yet, I am also hoping for a place this year as I would love her to not be too old I think it would be lovely to start from mids.

We are awaiting for a place in Manchester ❤️

Hi all,

I am new to this!

Just wondering if anyone knows when we can expect to hear if we have been allocated a Mid Associate place from their “short waitlist”?

Does anyone know the timings for Mid Associates in Birmingham?

and last question, has anyone done Elmhurst Extended Dancers and RBS Mid Associates at the same time?

Many Thanks

Are the people who are on the waiting list considered by RBS less appropriate for the school or it’s just to do with the fact that there is not enough space available? I am just curious to understand the logistics behind the school decision.

I’m sure there is never enough spaces for everyone they deem appropriate for the associates scheme (I don’t say school because I would see it as separate to the associates). It could come down to very small things the whys and why nots of who gets a place and who gets a waitlist place.

But also if there is a movement and the waiting list is let’s say 100 people it will still be difficult?😞

we don’t know how many people are in a waiting list.

The waiting lists for mids are short though (unlike summer intensive waiting lists which are longer) and lots more movement for mids as people take up places in vocational schools too....we had to hand our place back once our dd started vocational school.....Best of luck to you...its a good achievement to get waiting list...definitely shows they're interested xxx
