Jan McNulty
I was very saddened today to hear of the death of Derek Fowlds. I only ever saw him on TV but thought him both a fine comic actor with a superb sense of timing and also excellent in straight dramas. For me, though, my abiding memory is of him as Mr Derek in the Basil Brush show. Sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/jan/17/derek-fowlds-obituary

alison
Funny how, despite his marvellous performances in Yes (Prime) Minister, my immediate reaction on seeing this was still "Mr Derek". RIP.
Anna C
For me he will always be remembered as Sgt Oscar Blaketon in Heartbeat - he had a marvellous way of emphasising the “s” sound at the end of names like “Greengrass” and “Ventriss” when irritated. A wonderful and versatile actor and a very sad loss.
