Sim Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 A tweet from the Spanish newspaper El Pais with a link to an interview with Carlos Saura informs us that Saura is starting to make a new film in Mexico in March 2019. It will star Isaac Hernandez of ENB (who is, of course, Mexican) and is about the history of Mexican folklore through the generations, told via a fictional story. I loved his Carmen and Blood Wedding, so am looking forward to this. 5
alison Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Oh well, at least Hernandez isn't joining the cast of Cats (what're ENB doing around that time? The mixed bill at Sadler's Wells?) 2

Jan McNulty Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 I loved Saura's El Amor Brujo the best of his flamenco trilogy. 2

His flamenco version of Carmen was my favourite. It seemed more contemporary as it featured the difficult relationship of the choreographer and his leading dancer. I suppose the new film won't be released until the end of next year - but I'll keep an eye out for it. Linda
