thewinelake
Not quite sure where to ask this, but our school has recently done a show and would like some advice on how best to disseminate the footage to parents/family/friends. It could be just selling DVDs, or perhaps using a video sharing site in a non-public manner or even a drop-box download of a .IMG DVD file or .MOV files. One thing is that some of the backing tracks will probably have copyright issues (although no Disney or Andew Lloyd Webber!). What do other schools here do? annaliesey
You could try and upload to Facebook private group, YouTube unlisted, or vimeo if there's a private option there but as you've mentioned the copyright breach usually is a major headache It might work but if not then traditional DVDs might be best as quicker and once they've been done people don't usually need much support. I find with things like Dropbox, google drive etc I'm forever offering user support!
Bluebird22
Put it on a stick and let parents copy it ?
Pas de Quatre
If you are performing in public you should be paying PRS fees anyway, so tell them that it will be filmed too for sale.
Nicola H
the burning to DVD option is probably the most straightforward one, though with the increase in computers without any form of optical drive that might create a few difficulties for some people ... Annaliesy is correct that some people really do see mto struggle with dropbox etc
