ambros1a
Vladimir Urin has announced that Sergei Filin's contract will not be renewed when it expires in March 2016. The decision is linked to internal affairs in the theatre. There is a proposal that he continue to collaborate with the theatre in another way but does not specify what that might be. http://culturebox.francetvinfo.fr/scenes/danse/le-bolchoi-licencie-son-directeur-artistique-attaque-a-lacide-en-2013-225103 http://www.gazeta.ru/culture/news/2015/07/30/n_7420113.shtml

Melody
From Ismene Brown's blog: "...while the artistic decision-making is taken into the theatre directorate as a whole." Artistic decision-making by committee? That sounds a bit dire.
Sim
'Decision making' and 'committee' is usually an oxymoron.
theballetblogger
The new director of the ballet will take more organizational tasks, in stead of only dealing with the artistic side of the ballet. It is sad for Filin, hope he can continue to work at the bolshoi. I'm curious who will be his successor. Any suggestions?
