  1. According to a post on screen at yesterday's DQ, The Rite of Spring is being replaced (in some cinemas only) by Esmeralda. Check with your local cinema - Clapham definitely not showing an alternative as I got a refund on RoS yesterday.
  2. Point taken - Zelensky and Polunin were originally scheduled to dance but not on the cast list now...
  3. According to ENO's website today, neither Zelensky nor Polunin are now on the cast list...
  4. Email received from Victor Hochhauser this morning: The casting for the Bolshoi Ballet’s summer season is still not confirmed, but at present, Andrei Merkuriev is scheduled to dance in Jewels: Rubies on 13 August 2013. Even when confirmed, casting is always subject to change; we would suggest checking the Royal Opera House’s website www.roh.org.uk/bolshoifrom time to time, where the casting will be published, once confirmed.
  5. Very frustrating not having the castings! Don't want to book tickets until I know who's dancing what! If you aren't a Friend of RoH, join the Victor Hochhauser mailing list and you will be able to get priority booking at the end of March.
  6. Now I am SUPER excited, Andre dancing Espada - in the words of the song 'nobody does it better'! Am seeing it at my usual haunt, Clapham Picturehouse. It'd be super to have the dvd, a must in fact! Thank you!
  7. Does anyone know who is dancing Espada in DQ next Sunday? Is it Merkuriev? Hope so!
  8. Email just received - CANCELLED: The Bolshoi Ballet's The Rite of Spring As you may already be aware, Sergei Filin, the artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet, has been hospitalised and recovery is expected to take several months. Due to this the live transmission of The Rite of Spring on Sunday 31 March has had to be cancelled. All customers with tickets for this event will receive a full refund. Please either visit the Box Office in person or call 0871 902 5747.
  9. Probably not news, but The Rite of Spring has been cancelled because of the Filin incident. The advice I have is to ask for a refund if you've bought cinema tickets, but conceivably The Bolshoi might be putting something else on to replace RoS.
  10. At Friday's Ashton Gala at RoH, there were murmurs that the Stanislavsky Theatre may be visiting London this summer, with Polunin. Has anyone got any information on this?
  11. M&A was simply electric, so emotional and passionate. La Valse not a favourite of mine either, but Gartside was outstanding. Zucchetti lit up the stage, marvellous.
  12. Hi Janet - can you tell me how I can edit or delete my posts? Many thanks.
  13. Russian Ballet Icons cast list for 10th March at ENO: Leanne Benjamin, Alina Cojocaru, Jaime Crandall, Elena Glurjidze, Dmitriy Gruzdev, Dmitry Gudanov, Kirill Kurlyaev, Alban Lendorf, Evegenia Obraztsova, Guiseppe Picone, Ivan Putrov, Marianna Ryzhkina, Kristina Shapran, Inaki Urlezaga, Edward Watson, Maria Yakovleva, Svetlana Zakharova, Igor Zelensky, Artem Ovrachenko, Sergei Polunin. Definitely not to be missed!
  14. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/31/bolshoi-ballet-cancels-right-of-spring_n_2593028.html So if anyone has bought tickets for the UK cinema screening of The Rite of Spring, they are being advised to ask for a refund...
  15. No decent seats available for 30th and there's no guarantee that Johan will be fit enough anyway, so it looks like Reilly for us on Wednesday. Am disappointed, but can only wish Johan well.
  16. Osipova/Vasiliev aren't mentioned in the preliminary cast list published by Dancing Times, I guess we'll have to wait and see!
  17. Have a look at The Flames of Paris dvd with Osipova and Vasiliev, available from Amazon for about £20. Wasn't expecting to like it, but it's one of my favourites, really vibrant and energetic, wonderful dancing.
  18. Dancing Times gives the following casting: 'Dancers expected to appear in London include Maria Alexandrova, Maria Allash, Nina Kaptsova, Svetlana Lunkina, Anna Nikulina, Evgenia Obraztsova, Ekaterina Shipulina, Anastasia Stashkevich, Olga Smirnova, Semyon Chudin, David Hallberg, Mikhail Lobukhin, Viacheslav Lopatin, Artem Ovcharenko, Ruslan Skvortsov and Nikolai Tsiskaridze.' And, I very much hope, Andrey Merkuriev!
