  1. I agree, which I think makes the subjective aspects of these discussions rather valueless. We all have different experiences/expectations/needs, even within families - my three children all went to different schools, decisions taken as a family with as little regard as possible to external chatter and opinion. If I were to offer any advice, and I wouldn't presume anyone should take it, it would be to sit one on one with the headmaster (or as appropriate) at any chosen school and ask your questions and make any decisions based upon how you feel that conversation goes.
  2. You are certainly allowed to say that Snape. But as anecdotal evidence it only serves as your opinion. I have a different opinion.
  3. Really, why wouldn't one check the fees first?! It is a good compromise though, good independent school replacing (the otherwise very valuable) sport curricula with dance, plus additional sessions on other days. All on the website.
  4. For those that are interested, the RBS 2016 Ninette de Valois Junior Choreographic Award:
  5. My humour has offended the sensibilities of the moderators. I wrote in a rather straightforward (sarcastic) manner that the boy has expressed an interest in an activity, barring cost and other relevant constraints, why would you not encourage him? It seems more of a personally motivated decision to dampen his interest. He is 10, still a young boy, let him find his way. From a rather straight talking, non-gushing father of a dancing son.
  6. Normally I'm irritated by the comments on this site - how tough it is for dance mums, mums this mums that. Never any mention of fathers. On this occasion glad do see another mum only thread. Although can't help thinking enough is enough now...
  7. Ear placement!? seriously, listen to what you are saying.....
  8. That's the letter. Same description as the one we received yesterday...
