  1. My DD swam approximately 5 hours a week squad training at the age of 9 and swam competitively, she did this until she was 11 and had to give up because she went to a vocational school. She actually swam more than she danced, I don't think the swimming hindered her physique, just increased her stamina. At the age of 9 they should keep doing anything they enjoy!
  2. sorry for double post said was not posted!
  3. Not sure! I was quite shocked as thought she would rather wear one, so expected a different reaction to the one I got! Will show her the link, when she is home next, thanks.

  5. Just to put in the mix my DD who is larger than average (bust size) for her age and is at vocational school, was horrified at the idea of wearing a bra under her leotard when I mentioned it to her today....she said she could not think of anything worse!
  6. When you have the hair pins at home but not your Daughter!
  7. Good Luck and hope they both enjoy their time there .....hope to hear good news tomorrow night!! I too find it very interesting, how the whole system works abroad and thank you for giving us an insight fingers crossed for both your DD's.
  8. Hi Julie I hope you had a lovely evening!!! As has been said before we don't often get to see them dance so when we do it is very special!!
  9. Be brave and ring they are very friendly!
  10. Hi tomuchtallent At Elmhurst the girls started pointe work about three weeks after starting in September. My dd had not started pointe work and It is a question i wish i had asked, as there was a mad rush to buy pointe shoes before the first lesson and was only alerted after a distressed call from dd worried she wouldn't be able to get them by then! I think they have two 45 mins lessons but dd is not here to ask to confirm this.
  11. I have to say that at my DD's vocational school (she is in year 7) they do seem to be all shapes and sizes from quite small to quite tall etc.....all must have shown something at audition to get a place, they definately do not fit the one look for all theory!
  12. Have to say how lucky your little sister is to have you, spending all this time finding information for her!!
  13. She was a JA she didn't end up taking the MA place as she went to another vocational school, but i just wanted to let you know that not being invited to finals had no bearing on MA results! Keeping my fingers crossed for you both x
