  1. Anybody still waiting for IFA or other assessment results/report? I’ve had problems with my email account today and am concerned I have missed it.
  2. Yes, very limited then. Such a shame. Elmhurst results came out this evening, fingers crossed for good news for somebody in the coming days. There were a few year 7s that attended the Hammond, at Elmhurst finals too so who knows.
  3. Elmhurst results are expected this Saturday, so there could be some movement on the waitlist in the coming weeks. I imagine Tring MDS and WL results will follow very soon too. Fingers crossed. Iv’e only heard of a few MDS places for year 7 at the Hammond this year, anyone heard different? Seems like a limited year this time sadly.
  4. And for context, it was in a room with several other people having their interviews with a different member of staff at the same time, it was very friendly. The interview is with a member of staff (not a member of the panel) x
  5. It is very informal and I don't think it has much, if any, bearing on the result. It is more just about getting to know the child, to build up a bit of a picture before they potentially attend. An opportunity to discuss any worries or ask any questions you might want to ask, and to make sure the school is definitely what you are looking forward. It doesn’t matter whether you go in with the child or not, attending the audition is enough to show resilience and independence. So if your child finds comfort in having you with them in the ‘getting to know you’ session, then don’t overthink it. From experience, it’s a great experience, the school is very friendly with a lovely feel about it. Good luck, we will be there too, second try for my daughter x
  6. Uber generally won’t go into Richmond park, you’d need to pre-book a taxi or use the cabs outside of the station. Definitely walkable though, albeit a fairly lengthy walk. Lovely if the weather is nice. Having your own car would be ideal.
  7. It is indeed, it means that if there were more places it would have been a yes. Well done 👏 and fingers crossed 🤞
  8. The admin staff who email out the results surely have zero influence on the decision, so I wouldn’t worry about that.
  9. Have you tried applying for the Easter intensive? UK dancers seem to have much more luck receiving a place at that one in comparison to summer. Summer seems to be used more for international students x
  10. I’ve just received the email for the support fund too. I wonder if accepting funding from the support fund (if offered) will automatically remove the child from the MDS funding reserve list? Or whether this funding is only offered for one year?
  11. All funding offers have been sent, so if you haven’t heard, you are right to assume you haven’t been awarded it. We cannot request to know what place they are on the reserve list and we must pay the £160 to secure their place on the reserve list. Fingers crossed for movement over the coming months 🤞x
  12. Yes quite possibly so. Oh well, we will go on like it’s a no and if anything pops up it’ll be a nice surprise. Fingers crossed over the coming months x
  13. If there are only between say 9-12 awards then I can’t imagine it would take this long to email them all out, unless they are still actively deliberating, but I can’t see that being the case?
  14. Wondering the same. Radio silence here so can only assume no funding or reserve list, uh 😔x
  15. My refresh button isn’t gonna know what’s hit it on Monday 😂 Good luck all 🤞x
  16. Does anybody know how many of the current year 11s receive MDS? Just wondering how many there will be this year.
  17. Somebody commented earlier that we should know about funding by next week, I’d maybe contact the school or hold off for a few days, hopefully there will be an update from the school soon x
  18. Email received yesterday, letter arrived today 1st class x
  19. A letter has just arrived with a lovely gold seal. There’s no way to sneak a peak so I’ll have to be patient until my daughter gets home tonight. Assuming it’s good news 🤞 Now to cross everything and hope and prey for MDS 🙏 Good luck to everybody else x
  20. So sorry to hear your news, it is really difficult. My daughter worked really hard and had 3 years as a RBS JA, made the finals for Elmhurst, and RBS semis but unfortunately didn’t end up with a vocational or Mids place, Tring was a straight no . The advice we received from her JA teacher and her local teachers (35+ years experience) was that all children develop at different rates, some are physically ready at 11 and others take a few more years. That being said, gaining a vocational place at 11 does not necessarily mean the child will be any more successful than a child that gains a place at 16 for example. Please don’t give up. In the dance world, there are a lot of rejections, so being able to positively deal with it at this age can be a good thing for preparing for the future. Speak about how you feel with your child’s dance teacher to put a plan together for moving forward.
  21. Most definitely sounds like good news 🥰
  22. Nothing yet, my daughter also auditioned on 22 x
