Hi my daughter has received the dreaded no letter this morning from hammond dance sixth form ???? It says she has been put on the reserve list and also to contact them about a bursary. My question to anyone that might know is do only a select few get reserve list, or is everyone who went to funding audition and not offered dada then put on reserve list ? Regards the bursary offers I doubt that even if offered one it would be enough to enable us to afford my dd to attend now as we are middle earners on dada scale and can't see bursarys being that generous !

Thank you sp - just home dd said it went well 45 in audition. She's tried her best just the wait for results now ! No idea on how long the results will take though x

Oh sounds very exciting! Good luck to everyone going to funding audition - my dd will be there! Hope I get some sleep tonight I feel sick with nerves. I don't know how our children put themselves through this. I only wish there were enough awards to go round all our beautiful, talented children. Any one any idea on how many children at funding audition to how many awards available? I know it's a long shot asking that question!!!!

When I spoke to the child benefit advisor she said degree courses don't qualify for child benefit or child tax as you can claim student finance . But as already pointed out each advisor seam to say something different x

That's my understanding of it. You can claim if in full time education doing a levels or up to a b tec level 3 diploma but not above level 3 . So the dance degree and level 6 diploma count as higher education x

Hi miracle I'm not expecting to hear till April as last audition on website is end of March and who knows they may add more ? Thinking back we were told end of March or April - but looking like April to me !

My dd will be looking to take two a levels . We won't get maintenance part of dada as we are just over cut off point - this is why I really hope to still get child and tax benefit . It's my fault really when sorting out our budget I thought my dd would still qualify for these benefits being 16 and in full time education. It's just we thought we might just possibly make this work and now we may need to find the extra to cover the loss of money. It is a means tested income and if I never had it to begin with fair enough - but I have been entitled to it , worked calculations out based on it and felt devastated to learn I may no longer be entitled to it. But hey that's the way it goes and she may not even get a dada so it would be game over anyway. What's meant to be will be . Just wish I'd researched properly but you kind of just focus on the auditions and I got carried away with it all but back down to reality with a bump now !!
