  1. Can anyone recommend a really good dance bag for dd to ate to school. Preferably dark in colour and no sparkly designs.
  2. I think I have. Or they might be 13.5. Will check when I get home.
  3. I agree trainers are best. And I guess I've bought them for dd to wear much less than the other poster. She needed something for when trainers look odd (pretty top & leggings or summer dress) & she'll be allowed to wear them with her dance track suit but list of the day will be in school shoes.
  4. I've just bought dd a pAir of converse and thought they look much more supportive than normal canvas shoes
  5. And I don't think there us anything untoward in the OP. I think the minimum age for signing up to forums is 13. Below that its up to parents to monitor/restrict access
  6. I think that if a student at the school dd should have gone to if she wasn't going to vocational made any kind of porn film gay or straight they would be suspended / excluded.
  7. Not really. The school dd is going to on their diploma course sone enter at 16, some at 18 or 19 for a 3 year course.
  8. I've put them in the washing machine before and found the insoles come out.
  9. Thank you for the offer but I've managed to get something locally.
  10. It is up to them what he does in his private time though. He is at a school, when you sign up to waive your rights to certain things. For example my dd will have to give up her musical theatre performances.
  11. I've been arguing about this on another forum with done US people who have a bee in their bonnet about do called human rights. When you go to vocational school/ training you agree not to take part in any outside performances not authorised by the school. The rules are clear - he broke them.
  12. She would probably be looking at intermediate ballet, repertoire & jazz. Problem is I won't find out from the other school until the end of the month.
  13. The summer school dd was booked onto might be cancelled so this would have been a perfect alternative but she's aged 11 and working at grade 3-4 standard. Those are the classes that are full.
  14. Oh - interesting. We have holiday insurance automatically on our bank account.
  15. I guess I just treat it the same as going on holiday in the UK. If we lost the money we couldn't afford to go Another time but not worth taking insurance out for.
  16. It would never occur to be to get insurance for a UK summer school to be honest. What would you want it to cover.
  17. Dd is doing a contemporary dance in a show in two weeks. They have all got to wear something floaty in a range if colours from cream, beige, brown, khaki, dark green etc. the older ones have managed to dirt themselves out via Primark etc but I'm struggling for dd. she is age 11 and a size 2a/3a Everything I have seen is either pastel or p
  18. When you plan your entire summer holiday around the dance school show and three different summer schools.
  19. When you gladly miss your Year 6 leavers party for a final show rehearsal.
  20. Dh us a conservatoire trained musician and can't dance in time at all Dd is off to vocational school in sept and in her piano lessons although she is good in many aspects she struggles to keep a steady rhythm.
  21. That's great At prize day we had to sit through a huge huge long list if sporting achievements from the past year - who had been selected for this that and the other. No mention of the kids who had competed (and Ron) the local drama & music festival or taken instrumental exams. And in the spiel of going on to high school they only ever mention scholarships to their feeder senior. A few years ago a girl went to RBS - not even a sentence in the newsletter for her.
  22. However the tutus thing. I saw done fabulous art/textiles work displayed at Hammond last year that had been produced for gcse/a level based around ballet.
