  1. Wow that does look great! Unfortunately I haven't had any full time training, fingers crossed in a couple of years I might be able to go
  2. I was going to wait until I'd received the result of my RBS application and then if unsuccessful apply for YBSS. I definitely don't want to lose £100! I guess there's the risk that YBSS would be out of places by the time I know about Royal but I'm just going to chance it I think
  3. Are places like Kate Simmons day-schools with no boarding? I live in Devon so I couldn't commute to the midlands everyday!
  4. Yes post 16 training please x
  5. ENBS was my third no out of the three schools I auditioned for. I was hoping to try and do a last minute audition at Hammond for a back up but they're not longer taking applications so I'm at home for another year To be honest I knew I wasnt really ready for full time training but I don't know how i can possibly try and reach the required standard for next years auditions - local training is very limited, as are associates for over 16's. I feel a bit stuck really as to what to do :s
  6. What is the Prague summer school? I've heard it mentioned several times now!

    Hello

Just out of interest Jaylou62, am i allowed to ask why your dd isn't going for many British sixth forms (RBS, Elmhurst, ENBS etc)? x
  8. Where else did your DD audition for? I've had no's for elmhurst and RBS finals too
  9. Sleeping in them with big fluffy socks on top works for me, your feet get nice and sweaty and make the shoes soft. I would try this before any violent action!
  10. Thank you for responses everyone x
  11. Is there a best considered summer school or is the same as vocational schools in that everyone has their own opinion?
  12. When I mentioned this on someone else's post London Senior Ballet was suggested but are there any other associate courses that carry on until age 18?
  13. Does anyone have any opinions as to whether doing a performance course such as NYB or a normal summer course is better for developing and improving technique?
  14. I was Bristol aswell, upper school though so think I have to wait even longer. Noooo!!
  15. I feel the same Discouraged, I've never been to vocational school and desperately want a sixth form place but I think compared to others that have already been in training since 11 I'm not up to the right standard (already had No from Elmhurst and tbh not expecting good news from my other auditions) It would be fabulous to have full time private training to help me catch up but realistically I don't even know how I'd do that and don't think my parents would pay! I don't even know of any associate courses that keep going after age 16. The issue is Devon really isn't known for its ballet training and I have no idea where I can get the highest non-vocational training possible to help me improve. I'm just going to do as much as I can (and pray!) and audition again next year. Ballet world is tough I hope you and your dd figure something out.
  16. Maybe a silly question, but what is a long back?! I've never seen anyone and thought they definitely have an abnormally long back...

  18. Does anyone know what the order of venue was this year?
  19. I go between 3 schools as there is nowhere that offers the amount of dance I want to be doing and all the teachers are aware of this and fine with it as I provided a valid reason.
  20. I did this in my hometown which BRB come to often - really good fun, and lovely dancers! Edited to add that even though it was a few months ago I can still remember the entrance of the swans repertoire vividly
  21. Well done I wish I'd tried before now so that I had a bit more experience with audition classes, yes's and no's - it feels very daunting the first time!
  22. Got a no for 11th jan audition today, knew it would be so not upset though anyone else have any news?
  23. Im pretty sure everyone gets a letter, no idea how long - they were a bit vague but basically said as soon as poss.
  24. I was auditioning for upper not lower school but just thought I'd say everyone was so lovely, particularly gailene stock. Good luck to everyone yet to audition! Definitely a highly enjoyable experience
