Hi Mae at my daughters school it is possible to do other things but permission must be sought and granted. Not usually a problem x

My daughter is in first year at vocational school. I honestly think that during her first term she would have been unable to undertake any further dancing . The timetable was jam packed and she found the step up from non vocational to vocational tiring both mentally and physically. On top of that she has washing and shopping to do at weekends - sometimes she even comes home

 I think it is good to plan some down time at weekends if you can. Most vocational schools have lessons on a Saturday morning. It all looks doable on paper ,but the reality can be different ,however good the opportunity looks. 

So do you think only current year 11 students can apply? Those that are starting year 12 in sept 2015. Or can the current year 12 apply as well?

Just the audition fee will bring in some money … guessing there will only be around 12 places with many more applicants.

It's bigger than BTUK School, and they have registered with no problem. Do the folks at ENBS realise they don't have to DO anything other than send an email??

 

Perhaps a group of ENBS parents should do a joint email to the school.....

They do realise as I forwarded the email from NUS saying exactly that

Surely ENBS isn't so small compared with other like institutions?  - is it possible for someone other than their administrator to put them on the list or at least find out about the scheme? It seems crazy for their students to miss out if it's a simple email/phone call.

I contacted the administrator after contacting NUSextra and forwarding the email received from them, advising that a phone call was all that was needed .The response was that as an institution ENBS was too small . NUS said that they have to hear from the school directly. Such a shame as the savings would be very useful for the students. (and parents!)

Just an update … I posted a Facebook message to Bloch and sent an email , to date NO response    pretty poor show considering the amount of money I spend with them. Not feeling a valued customer ….

I always think that being up front is the way forward (even tho often difficult). My advise would be to speak to your teacher in private, explain how you have been feeling in class and how upset you are that your private lessons are on hold for the moment. Hopefully it will clear the air and your positive relationship can be re-established. Fingers crossed that things get better for you soon.

Ladies, thank you for your interest. I have sent a letter to Bloch outlining my strong feelings on their current pricing policy. I've suggested that perhaps they might like to extend a (much) larger discount to vocational students If I get a reply I will be happy to share it with you …. of course the more communications they receive, the more they might sit up and take notice. Hi Angel …. the school do take them to Bloch but it's not mandatory that they wear them. Freed just don't seem to suit DDs feet

same for us Chaperone What makes me so mad is that Bloch mistakenly sent me an invoice for the wholesale price last year , lets say the mark up wasn't small
