  2. I think her school is based in London,Kensington. Her school has a FB page if anyone wants to have a look/
  3. Has anyone heard of this new ballet school.?Natalia Kremen is with the ENB and her husband is a principal with RB. There is a lovely video about her school and she had a photo shoot with her students in WL. Just thinking that maybe her lessons might not be RAD if anyone wanted something different.

  5. Thanks guys. xxxx just wanted you to remember the first time you saw your dd/ds dancing xxx
  6. Thanks JulieW, Just 1 more question, does Elmhurst offer any type of financial support to overseas students? Is there any school scholarships available? We have been out of the UK for more than 2 years and wouldnt qualify for a MDS.
  7. I really like the sound of Elmhurst!!allways hearing such possitve things. How many students are there for each year?Plus my mum lives in Birmingham!
  8. It has been so sad to hear about all the stressed out dd/ds and their mums over the last couple ofweeks. So this is just for fun.Its my dd when she was 5 and it was her first time on stage.Hope you enjoy.
  9. Yes! i would love some more information. for example, whats your childs normal programme for the day and how many lessons and in what styles?Do they get to perform in Ballets or shows from year 7 and up?Is there much competition between the kids? For musical Theatre do they get to audition for child roles in West end shows?my dd plays the violin and the piano, what are the music teachers like? And the big one,any advice on auditions? I know some poeple dont want to name schools but if you want to, say which school you like the best and why. Thank you xxx
  10. Thanks everyone. Hi Anjuli_Bai.All i know is Its called the village dance. The choreographer is the owner of our dance school who is actually a piano teacher. She is from Georgia. The Theatre is very nice.It belongs to the Townhall and the local Mayor lets all schools perform there for free including the tecnical staff and security.
  11. Its such a shame that the best vocational schools take on so few students from year 7-11.Im sure if they could take on more we would see great results.
  12. Here is a video on youtube of my dd and her turkish friends dancing. It was a couple of years ago and the kids are 7-9 years old. If anybody else wants to share videos it would be lovely to watch.
  13. For someone like me that dosent know much about the vocational schools and cant just go and visit its nice to hear different peoples view points and experiences.Everyone should be able to be honest about how they feel without offending others.I find it a great help reading possitive and negative view points about voc schools. They cant all be perfect, and its good to hear both sides.I think more people should say how they really feel.I would like to hear some nice comments about Tring,as my daughter who is only 9 tells eveybody that she is going there when she is older!!!
  14. It must make it hard for WL to pick so few as im sure there all alot with the requirements they want. How many make it to the finals?
  15. So my 10 year old boy who has never done ballet could get in!He is flexible, very nice natural feet, nice natural turnout and musical.I would laugh my head off if he got in and my dd couldnt!Shame he dosent like ballet!
  16. I dont think they only take people with the right physical requirements. From September there was a 10 year old girl who started ballet for the first time in my dds class. She has the perfect body, feet ,turnout ect.But she just cant do ballet at all.She loves it and tries her best. Its SO not just about physical requirements,It must be a mix of a few things, .It would be better to look at tallent first then what their body is like.
  17. You have already scared me!I did want to move back to the UK so my dd could study dance, but not sure now!
  18. But it would be nice to see some RAD videos as it seems most children are doing them in the UK.Had a look on Youtube but couldnt find anything for her sort of age.
  19. Think i will set up some private lessons in pirouettes!!!lol Only asking because i dont know the standard of the kids in the Uk.Its very usefull for me to know as my dd will be auditioning for a year 7 place in a couple of years xxxx
  20. So were they doing double turns or double pirouettes?
  21. What is his full name??thank you xx
  22. What age does the summer school start from?
  23. Dancing10, So was it 9-11 year old that had to do a double pirouette for a sholarship? In the Uk what age do kids start pirouettes?
