Amazon's totally untrue claim that books will be taking months to arrive is their way of attempting to force the publishers to give them a bigger discount. If the publishers comply delivery time changes to a few days. In actual fact even print on demand titles only take a week.

"The Gramilano review sounds like a whitewash"

 

Not at all, it's from the very respected critic Jann Parry, who isn't given to whitewashing.
It also gets a rave review from Mike Dixon in Dance Europe.

I think that both Jann Parry and Mike Dixon must have been  given advance copies. This is quite normal practice in order to generate positive comment for advertising purposes ahead of a book’s launch. 

 

Unfortunately, the piece in Gramilano goes a bit over the top.

 

(I did say upthread that the turnaround time for print on demand is surprisingly quick.)

Yes it's normal that reviewers get advance copies.  I've not read mine yet but if Jann Parry is enthusiastic then I look forward to it.

 

Small tip, at times advance copies are passed on to Amazon Marketplace sellers and even with postage are cheaper than via Amazon itself.
