£1 Northern Rail and £5 LNER train tickets

Northern Rail just started a flash sale with a million tickets costing just £1 for travel between 6th Sept and 22nd October. Many routes are currently available, mostly off-peak, but they'll probably go very quickly. See: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/northern-rail/#53591 . Routes include Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Stoke on Trent, Blackpool, Chester etc. You can only book single tickets via this offer. 

 

As in the past, the moneysavingexpert.com page at https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-coach-train-ticket-deals is a useful first place to look for train and coach deals - currently including LNER, £5 seats for travel from 6th September to 15th October.

Correction: You can get return tickets in one transaction. And after you have purchased a ticket, you can click to add more tickets (up to 10). It's supposed to be mostly off-peak tickets but right now there's plenty of availability leaving in the early morning, which is quite unusual.

Aagh - could have done with the LNER offer for a couple of weeks ago.  Was shocked at the prospect of a £120 return to Yorkshire for a family event!  Fortunately they did end up releasing some rather cheaper tickets once Covid restrictions had lifted.
