Anna C
A teacher will have a better idea because it needs to show age-appropriate performance skills, musicality and current technical standard. A good starting place in the meantime might be the dance or variation from whichever vocational exam he’s going to take next or has just taken - or the equivalent to whatever level he’s working at.
Picturesinthefirelight
As Anna says For most Lower School auditions I believe students tend to use either a dance they have competed with in a festival (if they do festivals) or their most recent exam variation.

Can his teacher tell you roughly what level vocational exam he’s working as? Because you can buy the appropriate RAD exam videos as DVD or digital download.
Picturesinthefirelight
How old is he? It would be usual for a teacher to choose/choreograph the dance. Is the teacher perhaps not supportive wioth the application? Edited February 21, 2019 by Picturesinthefirelight
Dance*is*life
Depending on his age and level a teacher can simplify a male variation, but I agree that the RAD male variations are age and level appropriate, as I presume are also ISTD dances. You could also check youtube for male competition solos.
Mummy twinkle toes
If you look at the British ballet Grand Prix website there are lists of Male variations for each age category.
