Does anyone no how many dadas northern ballet school have to give out this year and also if they give scholarships. My daughter has been offered a place for September and just wondering what the odds are on getting a dada at 16. She wouldn't be able to accept a place without this.

Does that mean the more you contribute towards a dada the better chance there is of getting one.

No - the way it works is that schools offering DaDa funding are obliged to make a list of students in order of talent, and they offer funded places starting at the top of the list down, until the funding pot runs out. You stand a better chance if the people above you qualify for a smaller portion of the funding, and hopefully there is enough left when the list gets to you.

No, they are allocated in strict order of perceived talent. It just means that ifvthe people at the top of the list require less money they can offer more people awards Wheras if the people at the top of the list need more funding the money runs out after less awards.

Not exactly Looby.  Yes MDS schools rank their candidates in order of potential in classical ballet but unlike Dada's they are allocated a certain number of awards so it doesn't matter how rich or poor the families of the children above you in the list are.  If a school has 7 awards and you are number 6 on the list you will get one, if you are number 8 it will be waiting list.
